I. OBJECTIVES

1. Knowledge and skills

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

  • Revise the forms of verbs used in the if-clause and the main clause of first conditional sentences.
  • Understand and use modal verbs (can, must, may, might, should, etc.) instead of  “will” in the main clause of first conditional sentences to express ability, permission, necessity, possibility, and advice.

  • Self-control and independent learning: actively participate in listening and sharing personal opinions with partners and the teacher.
  • Communication and collaboration: work in pairs or groups to complete the learning tasks and role-play activities.

  • Apply first conditional sentences with modal verbs to communicate about healthy living for teens in real-life situations.
