LESSON 4: SPEAKING
I. OBJECTIVES
1. Knowledge and skills
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- Talk about the lives of two famous national heroes of Viet Nam (General Vo Nguyen Giap and Vo Thi Sau).
- Ask for and provide biographical information using appropriate past tense structures.
- Take notes and present a cohesive life story to the class.

- Communication and collaboration: Work effectively in pairs to exchange information and in groups to prepare presentations.

III. PROCEDURES
1. WARM-UP
a. Objective: To activate students' background knowledge, stimulate critical thinking, and lead directly into the lesson about two specific national heroes of Viet Nam.
b. Content: Teacher organizes a brief analytical activity called "Symbolic Connections" using iconic images related to the heroes.
c. Product: Students successfully identify the national heroes associated with the given symbols and briefly explain their historical connections in English.

Step 1: Teacher assigns learning tasks

- Teacher asks students to work in pairs for 2 minutes to answer two questions:
1. Which famous national heroes do these objects remind you of?
2. What is the connection between the object and the hero?
