c. Product: Students correctly arrange the parts of a formal letter in the standard order.

d. Organization:

Step 1: Teacher assigns learning tasks

- Teacher asks the students to watch an AI-generated video designed to support the lesson and answer the questions that appear in the video.

- Teacher divides the class into 4 groups.

- Teacher gives each group an envelope containing 6 cut-out strips. Each strip has one part of a formal letter (e.g., 1. Sender & Recipient's addresses and Date; 2. Greeting (Dear Sir/Madam); 3. Reason for writing; 4. Body paragraphs (Experience/Skills); 5. Closing (I look forward to hearing from you); 6. Sign-off and Signature (Yours faithfully,)).

- Teacher asks students to arrange the strips into the correct logical order of a letter as fast as possible.

Step 2: Students perform learning tasks

- Students watch the AI-generated video and answer the questions about it.

- Students work in groups, discussing and arranging the strips on their desks.

- The teacher observes and encourages the groups.

Step 3: Reporting and Discussion

- The first group to finish shouts "Bingo!" and reads their order aloud.

- Other groups check their own arrangements and provide comments.

Step 4: Evaluation

- Teacher prompts a Generative AI tool (e.g., ChatGPT) to generate the standard format of a formal job application letter, displaying it on the screen for the class to verify their answers.

- Teacher leads into the new lesson: Today we will apply this exact structure to learn how to write a specific and very important type of formal letter: A job application letter.

[2.1.NC1a]: Choose simple digital technologies for interaction.

[6.2.NC1a]: Integrate AI tools into existing workflows to verify information and optimize learning outcomes.

TEACHER'S AND STUDENTS' ACTIVITIESEXPECTED PRODUCTSDIGITAL SKILL

Step 1: Teacher assigns learning tasks

- Teacher focuses Ss' attention on the advert in 1 and elicits the other vacancy available.

- Teacher explains that they are going to write an application letter for the position.

- Teacher reminds Ss to use the model and tips in 1, and the suggested expressions.

- In weaker classes, teacher reads through the model letter in 1 and has Ss underline the text that they need to replace in their new application letters. Elicit the duties of a restaurant receptionist and the skills required, and write them on the board as prompts, e.g. duties: greet customers, answer phone calls, keep records of guests; skills: effective communication skills, good memory, friendly, helpful.

Step 2: Students perform learning tasks

- Teacher walks round the class to offer help if necessary. When walking round the class to monitor, make a note of common mistakes.

Step 3: Reporting and Discussion

Dear Sir or Madam,

Re: Application for the position of a part-time receptionist

I am writing to apply for the position of a part-time receptionist that you advertised on your website.

I am in my final year of secondary school and have some experience in the hospitality industry. Last summer, I worked as a part-time receptionist for a local restaurant. My responsibilities included meeting and greeting customers and taking them to their tables. I also answered the phone and took bookings.

I consider myself to be reliable, hard-working and enthusiastic. I can speak English fluently, so I can communicate with foreign guests quite comfortably.

I would be delighted to meet you in person to discuss my application. I am available for an interview on any afternoon.

If my application is successful, I will be able to start work after the 15th of August when I finish my exams.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully,

Nguyen Van Nam

d. Organization:

Step 1: Teacher assigns learning tasks

- Task: Think about your ultimate dream career (e.g., Chief Software Engineer, Head Chef, Marketing Director, Head Doctor). Research the skills, degrees, and experience required for this high-level role.

+ Fast forward to the year 2035. Write a 150-180 word formal application letter applying for this exact dream position. Pretend you have already graduated from university and possess all the necessary qualifications and impressive experience to get the job. Follow the standard format learned in class.

Teacher instructs students to use search engines (e.g., Safari, Google,...) or AI chatbots (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini,...) on their digital devices at home to research the specific predictive skills and qualifications that will be highly demanded for their dream jobs in 2035.

Step 2: Students perform learning tasks
