TEACHER'S AND STUDENTS' ACTIVITIESEXPECTED PRODUCTSDIGITAL SKILL

Step 1: Teacher assigns learning tasks

- Teacher puts Ss in groups and asks each group to make a healthy meal plan for one day.

- The plan must include three main meals plus some morning and afternoon snacks.

- Ask Ss to think of the reasons why they include certain foods in the plan.

- Remind Ss to refer to the foods they have ticked in the table in Activity 3, and encourage them to brainstorm other healthy ingredients.

Step 2: Students perform learning tasks

- Students work in groups, brainstorm, and write down their meal plans.

- Students use digital devices to prompt a Generative AI tool (e.g., ChatGPT or Gemini) to suggest preliminary healthy meal options. They adjust the AI prompts iteratively (e.g., specifying calorie limits, age group, or requiring the inclusion of specific target foods from the lesson) to refine the output.

- The teacher observes, guides, and supports the students. In weaker classes, the teacher can do the brainstorming with all Ss and write the best ideas on the board.

Step 3: Reporting and Discussion

- Teacher invites some groups to share their meal plans in front of the class.

- Have the class vote for the best meal plan.

Step 4: Evaluation

- Teacher gives feedback, corrects pronunciation, and praises the best ideas.

- Extension (for stronger classes): Have Ss try to work out the number of calories of each dish in their meal plans, and what nutrients and vitamins it contains (e.g., protein, carbohydrates, vitamin C or D).

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

Suggested answer:

A healthy meal plan for one day:

- Breakfast: Avocado egg toast and orange juice

- Morning snack: 1 apple

- Lunch: Tuna salad with green vegetables and 1 slice of wholemeal bread

- Afternoon snack: 1 cup of yoghurt with blueberries

- Dinner: Fish with brown rice and steamed broccoli, and some ice cream for dessert

Reason: I have selected these foods because they are healthy foods which are rich in vitamins and can provide a wide range of nutrients for my day.

[6.2.NC1b]: Adjust AI systems to suit specific needs.

[3.1.NC1a]: Apply ways to create and edit content in different formats.
