LESSON 6: WRITING
I. OBJECTIVES
1. Knowledge and skills
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- Understand the structure and language of a short message.
- Practice sentence structures frequently used in invitations, suggestions, and other short messages.
- Write a short message (35-45 words) in response to an invitation.
2. Competences

- Communication and collaboration (working in pairs or groups to complete the writing tasks).

- Read for specific information.
- Apply appropriate structures and vocabulary to write a short communicative text.

1. WARM-UP
a. Objective: To activate students' prior knowledge about invitations/suggestions and create an engaging atmosphere before the writing lesson.

c. Product: Students' correct sentences about suggestions/invitations.
d. Organization:
Step 1: Teacher assigns learning tasks
- Teacher asks the students to watch an AI-generated video designed to support the lesson and answer the questions that appear in the video.
- Teacher divides the class into 2 or 4 teams.
- Teacher shows jumbled words using an interactive digital polling tool (e.g., Mentimeter, Quizizz): we / don't / Why / healthy / cook / together / food / ?
Step 2: Students perform learning tasks
- Students watch the AI-generated video and answer the questions about it.
- Teams work quickly to rearrange the words and use their digital devices to submit the correct sentence to the interactive platform.

b. Content: Ss read 6 parts of a message (A-F) and reorder them. Ss read the Tips box about the structure.
c. Product: Correct sequence of the short message.

Activity 2: Write a sentence to express each message below. Begin with the words given.
a. Objective: To help Ss practise sentence structures frequently used in invitations, suggestions, and other short messages.
b. Content: Ss write sentences using the given prompts (Why don't you..., You should..., Don't forget..., etc.).
c. Product: Completed and grammatically correct sentences.
