III. PROCEDURES
1. WARM-UP
a. Objective: To create an active, energetic atmosphere in the class before the lesson and lead into the new topic naturally.
b. Content: Teacher organizes a quick "Action Charades" (Mime and Guess) game to revise leisure activities learned in previous lessons without using any visual aids.
c. Product: Students correctly guess the hobbies through actions and make accurate sentences about themselves using verbs of liking/disliking.
d. Organization:
Step 1: Teacher assigns learning tasks
- Teacher asks the students to watch an AI-generated video designed to support the lesson and answer the questions that appear in the video.
- Teacher divides the class into 2 big teams (Team A and Team B).
- Teacher explains the rules: One volunteer from each team will come to the front. The teacher will secretly whisper a leisure activity to them (e.g., playing badminton, doing origami, making paper flowers, snowboarding).
- The volunteers must use actions and body language (no speaking, no drawing) to describe the activity for their team to guess.
- Teacher uses an AI-powered random name/word picker (e.g., Wheel of names,...) to secretly select a leisure activity for the volunteer.
Step 2: Students perform learning tasks
- Students watch the AI-generated video and answer the questions about it.
- The volunteers act out the hobbies.
- The teams watch closely and race to call out the correct English names of the activities.
- The teacher observes, acts as a referee, and supports if a word is too difficult to mime.
Step 3: Reporting and Discussion
- When a team shouts the correct activity, the teacher stops the timer.
- Guessed vocabulary:
+ playing badminton
+ doing origami
+ making paper flowers
+ doing DIY
- To win the point for that round, the student who guessed correctly must quickly stand up and make a complete sentence about themselves using a verb of liking/disliking (e.g., adore, fancy, mind, detest) with that activity.
- Expected spoken sentences:
+ I adore playing badminton with my dad.
+ I don't mind doing origami.
+ I detest making paper flowers because it takes time.
Step 4: Evaluation
- Teacher checks the grammar of the spoken sentences, counts the points, and declares the winning team.
- Teacher leads into the new lesson: Now that we have revised some great hobbies, how can we ask our friends to join us? Today, we will learn how to invite and accept invitations, and explore other teens’ leisure activities around the world.
[2.1.TC2a]: Choose simple digital technologies for interaction.
[6.2.TC2a]: Optimize classroom management by using an AI-powered random word generator tool on the smart TV to select leisure activities efficiently and impartially.
