I. OBJECTIVES
1. Knowledge and skills
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- Use phrases to give advice (e.g., perhaps you should, it's a good idea to, don't).
- Talk about and give advice on everyday situations like choosing clothes for a trip or buying a gift.
- Read for specific information about the Japanese lion dance and compare it with the Vietnamese unicorn dance.

- Self-control and independent learning: actively read the text and complete the tasks.
- Communication and collaboration: work effectively in pairs and groups to practice conversations and discuss similarities/differences between cultural dances.

Activity 1: Listen and read the conversation below. Pay attention to the highlighted parts.
a. Objective: To introduce ways of giving advice based on a specific cultural context (Vietnamese table manners).
b. Content: Students listen and read a conversation between Tom and Mai, paying attention to the highlighted language.
c. Product: Students understand the context and can identify the structures used for giving advice.

THE JAPANESE LION DANCE AND VIETNAMESE UNICORN DANCE
Activity 3: Read the text about the lion dance in Japan and complete the table with the information from the text.
a. Objective: To provide Ss with information about the lion dance in Japan.
b. Content: Students read a short text and scan for specific information to fill in the table.
c. Product: A completed information table about the Japanese lion dance.

- Task: Imagine you work for a teen magazine. A foreign student named Alex wrote a letter asking: "I am going to have dinner with my Vietnamese friend's family next week. What should I do to be polite?". Write a short reply (5-7 sentences) giving him advice using the structures learned today.
- Teacher encourages Ss to type their letters and send them via the class Zalo group.
Step 2: Students perform learning tasks
- Ss brainstorm ideas about Vietnamese dining etiquette.
