1. WARM-UP

a. Objective: To create an energetic atmosphere, activate pupils' prior knowledge of travel destinations and weather vocabulary, and lead smoothly into the topic "Last Summer".

b. Organisation:

- Teacher greets the class.

- Teacher asks the students to watch an AI-generated video designed to support the lesson and answer the questions that appear in the video.

- Teacher displays a "Magic Suitcase" (or a box on the table) containing picture cards of various destinations (e.g., Sa Pa, Ha Long Bay, Ho Chi Minh City, Tokyo, beach, mountains).

- Teacher uses an AI audio tool on laptop/TV to generate and play realistic ambient soundscapes (waves, rain, wind) and displays GenAI digital blurred destination photos.

- Teacher pulls out a card partially hidden behind a piece of paper or plays short sound effects (e.g., wave sounds, rain falling, mountain wind).

- Teacher asks: “Where was I last summer? Can you guess?”

- Pupils raise hands to guess: "Were you in Sa Pa?" / "Were you at the beach?"

- Teacher reveals the card, confirms, and asks: "Was it fun?"

- Teacher introduces the lesson: "Today, we will review how to ask and answer about our trips last summer in STARTER - B. LAST SUMMER."

- Pupils greet the teacher.

- Students watch the AI-generated video and answer the questions about it.

Activity 2: Listen and match

a. Objective: To listen to and understand four communicative contexts in which speakers ask and answer questions about the places they were last summer, and match the speakers with the right pictures.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher draws pupils’ attention to the pictures of the four characters (1. Mary, 2. Nam, 3. Linh, 4. Lucy) and the four place/weather pictures (a. Tokyo on a rainy day, b. Ha Long Bay, c. Ho Chi Minh City on a sunny day, d. a mountainous area). Identify them together as a class.

- Teacher plays the recording for Exchange 1. Ask pupils to listen to and identify the correct picture (a, b, c or d) and draw a line to match the character (Mary) to the correct place (Picture b). Play the recording again for pupils to do the task. Play the recording a third time to give pupils another listening opportunity if needed.

- Teacher operates digital audio software controls (play, pause, replay timestamps, volume adjustment) on laptop/TV.

- Teacher repeats Step 2 for Exchanges 2, 3, and 4. Go around the classroom to offer support where necessary.

- Teacher gets pupils to swap books with a partner, then check answers as a class. Write the correct answers on the board.

- Teacher projects digital interactive answer keys on the screen for peer verification.

- Teacher plays the recording for pupils to check their answers again.

Extension: If time allows, teacher plays the recording sentence by sentence for the class to listen and repeat individually and in chorus. Correct their pronunciation where necessary.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils observe the pictures, identify characters (Mary, Nam, Linh, Lucy) and location cues (Tokyo/rainy, Ha Long Bay, Ho Chi Minh City/sunny, mountains).

- Pupils listen to Exchange 1 and draw a line matching Mary to Picture b.

- Pupils follow digital audio playback and signal teacher if sound volume or clarity requires adjustment.

- Pupils listen to Exchanges 2, 3, and 4 to complete matching picture a, c, and d.

- Pupils swap books with partners and check the keys on the board.

- Teacher let pupils work individually to complete the task in 3 minutes.
