1. WARM-UP

a. Objective: To create an energetic learning atmosphere, revise the previous lesson (Where were you yesterday?), and introduce the concept of past actions.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher greets the class.

- Teacher asks the students to watch an AI-generated video designed to support the lesson and answer the questions that appear in the video.

- Teacher invites a group of 4-5 pupils to stand in a line.

- Teacher asks the first pupil: "Where were you yesterday?"

- Pupil 1 answers (e.g., "I was at the zoo.").

- Pupil 2 must repeat Pupil 1's sentence and add their own: "He was at the zoo. I was at the funfair."

- Pupil 3 repeats the previous two and adds their own. If someone forgets, they sit down.

- After the game, Teacher asks the class: "You were at the zoo. What did you do there?" to introduce the new lesson's topic (asking about past activities).

- Teacher writes the title of the lesson on the board. Ask pupils to open their books at page 64 and look at Unit 9, Lesson 2, Activity 1.

- Pupils greet the teacher.

- Students watch the AI-generated video and answer the questions about it.

Activity 2: Listen, point and say.

a. Objective: To correctly say the phrases and use What did you do yesterday? - We ____. to ask and answer questions about activities someone did in the past.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher asks pupils to look at Picture a. Draw their attention to two girls listening to music at the theatre. Play the first part of the recording for pupils to listen and repeat the phrase under the picture (listened to music), in chorus and individually. Do the same with the other pictures (watched the fish, danced around the campfire, played chess).

kenhhoctapkenhhoctapkenhhoctapkenhhoctap- Teacher has pupils look at the speech bubbles and elicit the missing words. Play the second part of the recording for pupils to listen to and repeat the question and the answer (What did you do yesterday? - We listened to music.). Explain that listened is the past tense of listen(watch kenhhoctap watched, dance kenhhoctap danced, play kenhhoctap played).

- Teacher repeats the steps for Pictures b, c and d. Go around the classroom to offer help.

- The teacher asks pupils to use their tablets to take a quick photo of the picture (a, b, c, or d) they want to talk about.

- Teacher invites a few pairs to point at the pictures and act out the exchanges.

Extension: Put pupils into groups to make 2 sentences using the past tense verbs (e.g., We listened to the radio yesterday. We watched a film...). The group with two correct sentences wins.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the pictures and identify the past activities.

- Pupils listen and repeat the full question and answer patterns.

- Pupils work in pairs, pointing at the pictures in their books and practicing the dialogue.

- Pupils select routine digital tools by opening the camera app on their tablets and taking a photo of a specific picture to use as a visual aid for their interaction.

- Selected pairs act out the exchanges in front of the class.

- Groups brainstorm and form their own past tense sentences.

a. Objective: To listen to and understand a recording in which the character talks about the activities she and her friends did at the campsite, and circle the correct answers.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher asks pupils to read the questions and the answers. Draw their attention to the gaps and the options given. Have them work in pairs to guess the correct options. Check comprehension.

kenhhoctap

- Teacher plays the recording all the way through so that pupils can become familiar with the character's voice. Then play the recording again for them to listen and circle the correct options.

- Instead of writing in books, the teacher pushes the multiple-choice task to the pupils' tablets via a digital quizzing platform (e.g., Quizizz or Blooket) for a gamified listening experience.

- Teacher gets pupils to swap their books with a partner and check their answers. Play the recording and stop at the key sentences for the class to double-check. Correct the answers if needed.

Extension: Have pupils recount the recording with the help of the answers (e.g., We were at the campsite... In the morning, we walked...).

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils read the 4 multiple-choice questions to prepare for listening.

- Pupils show how to edit content by selecting the correct digital radio buttons (a or b) on their tablet screens while listening to the audio.

- Pupils listen carefully to the audio to catch the location and activity keywords, then circle the correct options.

- Pupils swap books to peer-check.

- Pupils check answers with the teacher.

- Selected pupils try to retell the story using the completed sentences.

Activity 6: Let's sing.

a. Objective: To sing the song 'What did you do?' with the correct pronunciation, rhythm and melody.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher draws pupils’ attention to the title and lyrics of the song. Remind them the questions and answers in the lyrics are used to talk about the places the children were and the activities they did in the past. Discuss that you can be used to talk to one person or more than one person. Encourage them to point at the pictures.

kenhhoctap

- Teacher plays the recording all the way through for pupils to listen carefully. Play it line by line for them to listen and repeat.

- Teacher plays the recording all the way through and has pupils sing and clap along.

- Put pupils into two groups. One group sings the questions and the other group sings the answers.

- The teacher uses an Educational AI Music Generator to play a slightly different instrumental beat of the same song, challenging the pupils to adapt their singing to the new rhythm.

Extension: Encourage pupils to use other words to replace the place and the activity in each verse.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils read the lyrics and look at the pictures (playing guitar at a campsite; planting trees at a farm).

- Pupils listen to catch the beat and melody.

- Pupils practice singing line by line.

- Pupils sing the whole song enthusiastically and clap their hands.

- Groups take turns singing questions and answers.

- Pupils interact with basic AI systems by listening to the newly generated AI beat and adjusting their singing tempo and rhythm to match.

4. APPLICATION

a. Objective: To apply the learned language into a realistic, highly interactive, and personalized speaking task.

b. Organisation:

Mission: "The Weekend Interview"

- Teacher acts as a TV Reporter. Teacher walks up to a pupil with a "microphone" (a ruler/pen) and asks:

+ "Hello! Where were you yesterday?"

(Pupil: "I was at the park.")
