Activity 2: Listen, circle and check

a. Objective: To identify the stress on two-syllable words ending in -teen and -ty.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher tells pupils that: They need to circle the word with a different stress pattern from the other two words in each line. Then they will listen to the recording to check their answers.

- Teacher asks pupils to read the numbers.

- Teacher sends a digital worksheet version of this task to the pupils' devices to keep the exercise focused and simple.

- Teacher plays the recording twice. Pupils listen and circle the word they hear.

- Teacher has pupils swap books to check.
