2. PRESENTATION

Activity 1: Listen and repeat.

a. Objective: Pupils will be able to pronounce the sound of the letter D/d in isolation and in the words desk, dog, door, duck correctly.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher has pupils look at the picture and describes it.

- Teacher displays the digital textbook page on the smartboard. 

- Draw pupils' attention to the letter D/d. Ask pupils to point to the letter, listen, and repeat the sound more than once if necessary.

- Tell pupils to point to the door and the word door, asking them to listen and repeat.

- Repeat the same procedure with the words desk, dog and duck. Correct pronunciation if necessary.

- Play the recording again and call a few pupils to say the sound and words in front of the class, saying Well done! when they perform well.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the picture and describe it.

* Context: Dan is learning at the desk, there is a duck on the bed, the door is open, and there is a dog at the doorway.

- Pupils look at the digital smartboard screen. 

- Pupils point to the letter D/d, listen, and repeat the sound.

a. Objective: Pupils will be able to point to the letter D/d, the things/pet in the picture and say the sound of the letter D/d and the words desk, dog, door, duck.

FUN CORNER

a. Objective: Pupils will be able to say the words learnt.

b. Organisation:

Game: "Red words, green words"

- Teacher places a large pack of vocabulary cards (words from previous units in green, and the new words desk, dog, door, duck in red) face down in two lines between two teams. Each team has three representatives.

- Teacher explains the rule: The words in Unit 4 are red, and the words in previous units are green. Players take turns taking cards and reading the words. They win points/cards when pronouncing correctly.

- Players continue until a red card is turned up. The team holding the most cards wins.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils form two teams and listen to the game rules.

- Team representatives take turns picking and reading the word cards.

- Pupils cheer for their teammates.

- The winning team is announced.

3. PRACTICE

a. Objective: To consolidate the recognition of the new words through a basic reading task.

Mission: "Find the Letter D"

- Teacher divides the class into small groups.

- Pupils have 1 minute to look around and point to things like the door (door) or desks (desk).

- Groups shout out loud: "Door! / Desk!" to score points.
