Activity 6: Listen and repeat.

a. Objective: Pupils will be able to listen and repeat the sentence "This is a dog".

b. Organisation:

- Teacher has pupils look at the picture of a boy pointing to a dog. Say Look at the picture, please! Point to the dog, saying "This is a dog".

- Teacher displays the digital textbook on the smartboard. 

- Explain the meaning of the sentence and how it is used to introduce something.

- Teacher plays the recording several times for pupils to listen and repeat the sentence.

- Teacher activates an AI pronunciation app on the pupils' tablets. 

- Teacher asks pupils to point to the sentence and say it.

- Teacher invites a few pupils to listen and repeat the sentence in front of the class. 

- Teacher praises them by saying Well done!.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the picture and the sentence.

- Pupils view the lesson on the smartboard. 

- Pupils pay attention to the teacher's explanation of the structure.

- Pupils listen to the audio and repeat the sentence in chorus.

Activity 8: Let's sing!

a. Objective: Pupils will be able to sing a song with the structures "This is a ______." and "It’s on/near the ______.".

b. Organisation:

- Teacher has pupils read the lyrics to get familiarised with the first verse (about a duck on the desk). Explain the meaning of the structures.

- Teacher uses an AI music generator to play different instrumental versions (e.g., piano, guitar) of the song's melody.

- Teacher plays the recording several times for pupils to repeat the verse line after line.

- Teacher follows the same procedure with the second verse (a dog near the door) and the third verse (a desk near the window).

- Teacher  has pupils listen to the whole song, drawing attention to pronunciation, stress, and melody.

- Let pupils practise singing the song line by line, then the whole song. Invite some pupils to sing individually and praise them.

Extension: Ask pupils to look at the picture in Activity 8 and find the items that are in the song.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils read the lyrics of the first verse and understand the meaning.

4. APPLICATION

Mission: "Show and Tell: My Mini Bedroom"

a. Objective: To playfully apply the target structure to real-life objects.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher asks pupils to take out one learning tool from their bag (e.g., a book, a pen) or use the toy dog/duck the teacher provided in the warm-up.

- Teacher models the activity by holding a book and saying loudly: "Hello! This is a book!"

- Invite pupils to stand up, hold their chosen object up high, and introduce it to their desk partner using "This is a..."

- Call 3-4 confident pupils to come to the front, show their objects to the whole class, and introduce them.

- Teacher and the whole class clap and say "Excellent!" to encourage them.

* CONSOLIDATION

- Teacher reviews the main structure of the lesson: "This is a ______.".

- Teacher comments on the class's active participation, especially in the singing and "Show and Tell" activities.

* ADVICE

- Practice pointing at things in your house and saying "This is a..." (e.g., door, desk).

- Sing the song for pupils’ parents to hear.

- Pupils excitedly pick an item from their bags (or use teacher's toys).

- Pupils watch the teacher's demonstration.

- Pupils turn to their partners, hold up their items, and practice saying "This is a..."

- Volunteer pupils go to the front, smile, and say their sentences confidently.
