1. WARM-UP

2. PRESENTATION

Activity 3: Listen and chant.

a. Objective: Pupils will be able to say the sound of the letter E/e and the words pen, pencil, red in a chant.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher has pupils look at the chant, draws attention to the first line, and explains its meaning. Ask them to pay attention to the letter E/e and the word red.

- Teacher plays the chant using an AI voice assistant (smart speaker) and displays the animated lyrics on the interactive smartboard.

- Play the recording of the first line for pupils to listen and get familiarised with the tune.

- Play the recording again, ask pupils to listen and repeat the first line.

- Follow the same procedure with the other lines. Show pupils how to chant and clap their hands.

- Play the recording all the way through. Ask pupils to listen and repeat the chant individually and in chorus.

- Select some pupils to the front of the class to chant and clap their hands.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the chant and understand the context;  and look at the animated lyrics on the smartboard. 

- Pupils listen to the AI voice assistant playing the audio.

- Pupils listen to the audio line by line.

- Pupils repeat the first line with correct rhythm.

- Pupils follow the procedure for Verse 2 and practice clapping.

- Pupils chant in chorus and individually.

- Selected pupils perform in front of the class while others chant along.

Activity 4: Listen and tick.

a. Objective: Pupils will be able to listen, recognise the words and tick the correct boxes.

Activity 5: Look and trace.

a. Objective: Pupils will be able to trace the letter E/e (upper case and lower case) correctly and neatly.

b. Organisation:

- Have pupils look at upper case E and lower case e. Write them on the board.

- Write the letters in broken lines on the board. Make sure pupils understand solid vs. broken lines.

- Teacher guides pupils to open a digital handwriting app on their tablets to practice tracing the letter E/e. 

- Teacher demonstrates how to use the digital pen tool on the smartboard. 

- Ask pupils to work in pairs and swap their answers to check.

- Ask some pupils to show what they have done.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the board and recognize upper and lower case letters.

- Pupils observe the broken lines on the board.

- Pupils open the handwriting app.

- Pupils use pencils to trace the letters in their books neatly.

- Pupils use their fingers or digital pens to trace the letter E/e on their tablets.

- Pupils swap books with partners to check.

- Pupils show their work proudly.

3. PRACTICE

4. APPLICATION

a. Objective: To apply letter tracing in a fun, tactile, and interactive pair game.

b. Organisation:

Mission: "Magic Finger - Air Tracing"

- Teacher divides the class into pairs (Pupil A and Pupil B).

- Teacher explains the rule: Pupil A uses their "magic finger" to gently trace either upper case E or lower case e in the air or on Pupil B's back.

- Pupil B feels or watches the tracing and guesses by shouting out: "Big E!" (Upper case) or "Small e!" (Lower case).

- Give pairs 2 minutes to play and swap roles.

- Teacher goes around, joins in with a few pairs, and praises active pupils.

* CONSOLIDATION

- Teacher reviews the chant and the traced letter E/e.

- Teacher evaluates pupils' performance and praises neat writing.

* ADVICE

- Chant the song at home to your parents.

- Practice tracing letter E/e in your Workbook.

- Prepare for Lesson 3.

- Pupils form pairs excitedly.
