2. PRESENTATION

Activity 1: Listen and repeat.

a. Objective: Pupils will be able to pronounce the sound of the letter G/g in isolation and in the words garden, gate, girl and goat correctly.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher has pupils look at the picture, saying Look at the picture, please! 

- Teacher projects the interactive electronic textbook on the smartboard.

- Teacher   asks pupils to point to the letter G/g, saying Look at the letter G/g, please! Have them listen and repeat the sound of the letter G/g.

- Teacher  has pupils point to the garden and the word garden. Play the recording for them to listen and repeat the word garden individually and in chorus. Correct pronunciation.

- Teacher  follows the same procedure with the gate, girl and goat.

- Teacher  gets pupils to listen to the recording again, point to the letter and words, and repeat until confident.

- Teacher  invites a few pupils to pronounce the sound and words in front of the class.

- Teacher moves on to the next content. 

- Pupils look at the picture and listen to the teacher's description.

- Pupils follow the presentation on the smartboard.

* Context: A garden with a white fence and a small gate. A girl is feeding a goat. Draw pupils' attention to the letter G/g and the red letter g in the words

- Pupils point to the letter G/g, listen, and repeat the sound /g/ clearly.

- Pupils point to the words and pictures, listen, and repeat (garden, gate, girl, goat).

- Pupils repeat in chorus and individually.

- Selected pupils perform in front of the class confidently.

Activity 2: Point and say.

a. Objective: Pupils will be able to point to the letter G/g and the girl/things/animal in the picture and say the sound and the words.

FUN CORNER

Game: "BANG!"

a. Objective: Pupils will be able to practise pronunciation skill.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher prepares a box with small folded pieces of paper. Inside are learned words (garden, gate, girl, goat), a few cards that say "Bang!", and a few that say "Give a half!".

- Teacher uses a digital timer app on the smartboard with dynamic sound effects to pace the game rounds. 

- Teacher  explains the rules: Pupils take turns picking cards. Read the word correctly → keep the card. Pick a "Bang!" card →yell "Bang!" and return ALL cards to the box. Pick a "Give a half" card → return half of their cards to the box.

- Teacher  divines pupils into 2 or 4 groups.

- The first player of each group picks a card, reads the word, and keeps it if correct. Then it's the next player's turn.

- Players continue picking cards until time is up or the box is empty.

- The group holding the most cards is the winner.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils listen to the game rules excitedly.

- Pupils monitor the smartboard digital timer during their turns. 

- Pupils divide into groups.

- Pupils take turns picking cards from the box.

- Pupils yell "Bang!" and laugh when they pick the special cards.

- The winning group cheers.

3. PRACTICE

Mission: "Look and Choose"

a. Objective: To consolidate word recognition using a very basic, visual-focused sentence completion format, perfectly suited for Grade 1.

b. Organisation:

4. APPLICATION

a. Objective: To playfully apply the vocabulary to a creative context, encouraging speaking without pressure.

b. Organisation:

Mission: "My Little Garden"

- Teacher gives each pupil a blank piece of paper and asks them to quickly draw a large circle representing their "Garden".

- Challenge them: "Draw ONE thing you like in your garden (a gate, a goat, or a girl)." Give them 2 minutes to draw quickly.

- Teacher models the activity: Holds up a drawing of a goat in a circle and says confidently: "Garden! Goat!"

- Invite pupils to stand up, walk around, show their drawing to 3 friends, point to their picture and say the words (e.g., "Garden. Gate.").

- Call 3-4 confident pupils to come to the front, show their "Little Garden" to the class, and say the words.

- Teacher praises the class for being creative.

* CONSOLIDATION

- Teacher reviews the sound of the letter G/g and the four new words (garden, gate, girl, goat).

- Teacher evaluates pupils' participation and praises their energy during the "BANG!" game and drawing activity.

* ADVICE

- Tell your parents the English names of the things you drew in your "Little Garden".

- Prepare for Unit 7 - Lesson 2.

- Pupils use crayons/pencils to draw a garden and one item they learned.

- Pupils watch the teacher's demonstration.

- Pupils walk around, interact with friends, and proudly practice saying the vocabulary.

- Volunteer pupils go to the front, smile, and present their simple drawings.

- Pupils clap for their friends.

- Pupils listen to the summary.

- Pupils receive positive feedback.

- Pupils take notes on their simple homework.
