1. WARM-UP

a. Objective: To revise the learned sound, words from Lesson 1, and energize the class before the new lesson.

b. Organisation: Game "Quick Flash"

- Teacher greets the class.

- The teacher operates an interactive digital smartboard to display animated contexts and taps the digital bubbles on the screen to play the corresponding audio.

- Teacher asks pupils to look at the picture in Lesson 1, point to and say the sound of the letter I/i and the words chicken, chips, fish, milk.

Extension: Teacher holds up a flashcard (e.g., fish) facing themselves, then quickly flashes it to the class for 1 second and hides it. Ask: "What is it?" The fastest pupil to shout the correct word gets a point.

- Repeat with other words to excite the pupils.

- Teacher gets pupils to open the book and look at Lesson 2.

- Pupils greet the teacher.

- Pupils select simple digital technologies to interact by stepping up to the smartboard and tapping the screen to hear the dialogue.

- Pupils look at the picture, point and pronounce the sound and words loudly.

- Pupils watch carefully, guess the word, and shout it out (e.g., "Fish!").

- Pupils participate in the game enthusiastically.

- Pupils open their books to Lesson 2.

Activity 4: Listen and tick.

a. Objective: Pupils will be able to listen, recognise the words and tick the correct boxes.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher has pupils look at the pictures of Question 1, saying Look at the pictures in Question 1, please! What can you see? Draw attention to the boxes.

- Teacher pushes a digital version of the "Listen and tick" worksheet to the pupils' tablets. - Invite some pupils to point to the pictures and say the words in front of the class.

- Before playing the recording, say Are you ready? OK, now listen to the sentence, please! Play the recording twice and ask pupils to tick the box.

- Set a time limit for pupils to swap and check answers.

- Follow the same procedure for Question 2.

- Call a few pupils to the front to point to the pictures and say what they have heard.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the pictures and identify the items.

- Selected pupils point and say the words aloud.

3. PRACTICE

a. Objective: To consolidate word recognition using a very basic reading task suitable for Grade 1.

b. Organisation:

Mission 1: "Choose the Correct Word"

- Teacher uses the smartboard to project a digital version of this task.  

- Teacher guides pupils to look at the picture and choose the correct word in the brackets.

- Give pupils 2 minutes to write the correct words on their mini-whiteboards.

- Check answers as a class and have the whole class read the completed sentences aloud.

Mission 2: Complete the quiz (optional).

- Teacher sends link the quiz on website kenhhoctap: https://kenhhoctap.edu.vn/page/day-du-cac-tai-lieu for student to perform.

- Teacher gives pupils 5 minutes to choose the correct answer.

- Teacher calls out pupils to share their answers and explain the correct ones.

- Teacher monitors and offers support.

- Teacher asks fast finishers to read the completed words aloud to their partners.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the screen and the clear pictures.

- Pupils choose the correct words and write them on their mini-whiteboards.
