1. WARM-UP

a. Objective: To revise the learned sound and words from Lesson 1, and energize the class before the new lesson.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher greets the class.

- The teacher operates an interactive digital smartboard to display animated contexts and taps the digital bubbles on the screen to play the corresponding audio.

- Teacher asks pupils to look at the picture in Lesson 1, point and say the sound of the letter G/g and the words garden, gate, girl, goat.

- Teacher uses a blank paper to slowly reveal a flashcard (garden, gate, girl, goat). Pupils have to guess the word quickly. If the teacher pulls out a card that says "BANG!", all pupils must stand up, clap their hands once and say "BANG!".

- Teacher gets pupils to open their books and look at Lesson 2.

- Pupils greet the teacher.

- Pupils select simple digital technologies to interact by stepping up to the smartboard and tapping the screen to hear the dialogue.

- Pupils point to the picture and say the sound and words loudly.

- Pupils observe the slowly revealed flashcard and shout out the English word.

- Pupils react quickly to the "BANG!" card.

- Pupils open their books to Lesson 2.

2. PRESENTATION

Activity 3: Listen and chant.

a. Objective: Pupils will be able to say the sound of the letter G/g and the words garden, gate, girl, and goat in a chant.

Activity 4: Listen and tick.

a. Objective: Pupils will be able to listen, recognise the words and tick the correct boxes.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher  has pupils look at the pictures of Question 1.Ask What can you see? Can you see a garden and a gate? Draw pupils' attention to the boxes.

- Teacher securely pushes a digital version of the listening quiz to the pupils' tablets. 

- Teacher  invites some pupils to point to the pictures and say the words.

- Teacher  plays the recording of the first sentence. Say Listen and tick, please! Play several times if necessary.

- Teacher  asks pupils what they heard. If they say "There's a gate", tell them to tick box b.

- Teacher  follows the same procedure with Question 2.

- Teacher  calls some pupils to the front to point to the pictures and say what they have heard. Praise them.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils observe the pictures and identify the objects.

- Pupils access the pushed digital quiz file.

- Selected pupils point and read the options aloud.

- Pupils listen to sentence 1 carefully.

a. Objective: Pupils will be able to trace the letter G/g (upper case and lower case) correctly and neatly

3. PRACTICE

a. Objective: To consolidate the spoken patterns and word recognition through a very basic and visual completion task.

b. Organisation:

Mission 1: "Choose and Write"

- Teacher uses the smartboard to project a digital version of this task.  

- Teacher guides pupils to look at the picture, pick the correct word, and write it on their mini-whiteboards.

- Give pupils 2 minutes to complete the task.

- Check answers as a class and have pupils point to the board and read the full sentences aloud.

Mission 2: Complete the quiz (optional).

- Teacher sends link the quiz on website kenhhoctap: https://kenhhoctap.edu.vn/page/day-du-cac-tai-lieu for student to perform.

- Teacher gives pupils 5 minutes to choose the correct answer.

- Teacher calls out pupils to share their answers and explain the correct ones.

- Teacher monitors and offers support.

- Teacher asks fast finishers to read the completed words aloud to their partners.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the screen, pictures and sentences. 

- Pupils choose the correct words and write them on their mini-whiteboards.
