Lesson 1 (1 period)
I. OBJECTIVES
1. Knowledge and skills
By the end of this lesson, pupils will be able to:
- Correctly identify and pronounce the words pizza, kitten, popcorn, and bike.
- Recognise target words while listening through a physical response game.
2. Competences
- Critical thinking and creativity: observe pictures and unjumble letters to find the correct words.
- Communication and collaboration: work individually and as a class to follow instructions and play games interactively.
- Self-control & independent learning: perform pronunciation and complete a multiple-choice task.

- Teacher’s aids: Tiếng Anh 2 Global Success Teacher’s book and Student’s book; Flashcards of the words learnt in Units 1 and 2 (pizza, kitten, popcorn, bike, etc.); TV/Projector/Smartboard.
- Student’s aids: Tiếng Anh 2 Global Success Student’s book; Notebook.

2. PRESENTATION Activity 1: Find and circle the words. Then say. a. Objective: To correctly identify and pronounce the words pizza, kitten, popcorn and bike. b. Organisation: - Teacher draws pupils’ attention to Picture a (says “Look at Picture a.”).
- Teacher elicits the word indicated by the picture. When pupils answer correctly, confirm by saying “pizza” but don’t write the word on the board. - Teacher repeats for Pictures b “kitten”, c “popcorn” and d “bike”.
- Teacher projects the digital images from sachmem.net (obspizzanm, vokittenbh, abpopcornd, mkbikebdal) on the interactive touchscreen and asks pupils to choose the correct words on the screen. - Teacher activates an embedded AI voice recognition widget (eg., Native Speech,...) on the device and guides pupils on how to trigger it to test their speaking. - Teacher moves on to the next content. |
- Pupils observe Picture a.
- Pupils say the word "pizza" based on the picture.
- Pupils repeat the process for "kitten", "popcorn", and "bike".
- Pupils look at the digital images on the screen and choose the correct words.
- Pupils take turns speaking the circled words clearly into the microphone to allow the AI assessment tool to analyze and grade their English pronunciation.

3. PRACTICE a. Objective: To consolidate the spelling and meaning of the 4 target words (pizza, kitten, popcorn, bike) through a basic writing exercise. b. Organisation: Mission 1: "Look and Write" - Teacher projects the exercise on the TV/board or hands out a simple printed worksheet. - Teacher explains the task clearly: "Look at the pictures. Choose the correct word from the box and write it under the picture." Exercise Content: Word box: [ pizza / kitten / popcorn / bike ] 1. (Picture of a ) > _ _ _ _ _ _ 2. (Picture of a ) > _ _ _ _ 3. (Picture of a ) > _ _ _ _ _ 4. (Picture of ) > _ _ _ _ _ _ _ - Teacher gives pupils 3-4 minutes to complete the task individually. Go around the class to observe, check spelling, and help weaker pupils if needed.
- Teacher calls 4 pupils to come to the board and write the correct words.
- Teacher points to each answer and has the whole class read aloud to check and correct if necessary.
Mission 2: Complete the quiz (optional). - Teacher sends link the quiz on website kenhhoctap for student to perform. - Teacher gives pupils 5 minutes to choose the correct answer. - Teacher calls out pupils to share their answers and explain the correct ones. - Teacher moves on to the next content. |
- Pupils sit nicely and listen to the teacher's instructions.
- Pupils observe the pictures and read the words in the word box carefully.
- Pupils work independently on their worksheets (or notebooks) to copy the correct words under the corresponding pictures. - 4 selected pupils come to the board to write their answers clearly. - The rest of the class checks their own spelling, corrects any mistakes, and reads the words aloud to reinforce pronunciation. - Pupils receives the link and choose the answer. |
