1. WARM-UP

2. PRESENTATION

Activity 1: Listen and read.

a. Objective: To correctly identify and pronounce target words and sentence structures, as well as read and understand a short story.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher pushes the interactive digital story file to the pupils' tablets. (say "Look at the pictures."). Ask questions to help them identify the context:

+ Picture 1: Phil and Sue flying towards Ba's village. ("Let's go to Ba's village!")

+ Picture 2: Arriving at Ba's house and greeting Ba and his mother. ("This is my mother.")

+ Picture 3: At the table with juice, jelly, corn, and bananas. ("Pass me the juice, please." - "Here you are.")

+ Picture 4: Seeing a volleyball near the table. ("Oh, there's a volleyball. Let's play!")

- Teacher instructs pupils to plug in their headphones and reminds them to keep the volume below the safe limit.

- Have pupils point to Picture 1 (say "Point to Picture 1."). Play the recording for Picture 1 and encourage pupils to repeat (say "Listen and repeat.").

- Teacher repeats Step 2 for Pictures 2, 3, and 4.

- Have pupils work in pairs to act out the story. Go around the class to offer help and correct pupils’ pronunciation, if necessary.

- Teacher invites a few pairs to act out the story for the class.

Extension: Have pupils close their books and try to remember what the characters are doing in each picture.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils unlock their tablets and access the shared digital story file.

- Pupils point to Picture 1, listen carefully to the audio, and repeat the sentences with correct intonation.

- Pupils put on their headphones and manually adjust the volume slider to a safe listening level.

- Pupils point, listen, and repeat for the rest of the story.

- Pupils work in pairs, taking on the roles of Phil, Sue, Ba, and the mother to practice the dialogue.

- Selected pairs stand up and perform the story confidently.

3. PRACTICE

a. Objective: To consolidate the sentence structures reviewed in the story through a structured, visual exercise suitable for Grade 2.

b. Organisation:

Mission 1: "Choose and Write"

- Teacher uses the smartboard to project a digital version of this task.  

- Teacher instructs pupils to read the sentences, look at the picture clues, pick the correct word from the brackets, and write it carefully on their mini-whiteboards.

- Give pupils 2 minutes to complete the task.

- Teacher asks pupils to hold up their boards. Confirm the correct answers and have the whole class read the full sentences aloud.

Mission 2: Complete the quiz (optional).

- Teacher sends link the quiz on website kenhhoctap: https://kenhhoctap.edu.vn/page/day-du-cac-tai-lieu for student to perform.

- Teacher gives pupils 5 minutes to choose the correct answer.

- Teacher calls out pupils to share their answers and explain the correct ones.

- Teacher monitors and offers support.

- Teacher asks fast finishers to read the completed words aloud to their partners.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the screen, pictures and sentences. 

- Pupils carefully choose the correct word and write it down on their mini-whiteboards.
