1. WARM-UP

a. Objective: To revise the letter, sound, and words learned in Lesson 1 and create a joyful atmosphere.

b. Organisation: 

- Teacher greets the class.

- The teacher operates an interactive digital smartboard to display animated contexts and taps the digital bubbles on the screen to play the corresponding audio.

- Ask pupils what letter and sound they learnt in Lesson 1 (R/r, /r/).

- Teacher plays "Magic Eyes": Flash the pictures (rainbow, river, road) very quickly on the screen/board and encourage pupils to say the words loudly in chorus.

- Praise the fastest pupils.

- Say: "Open your books and look at Unit 4, Lesson 2."

- Pupils greet the teacher.

- Pupils select simple digital technologies to interact by stepping up to the smartboard and tapping the screen to hear the dialogue.

- Pupils answer loudly: "Letter R, sound /r/".

- Pupils focus on the board, try to catch the flashing pictures, and shout out the correct words ("rainbow!", "river!", "road!").

- Pupils open their books and get ready for the new lesson.

Activity 4: Listen and circle.

a. Objective: To recognise the words river, road and the sentence structure There's a _____. while listening.

b. Organisation:

- Have pupils look at the pictures and say the words (say "Point and say."). Confirm by saying "river/rainbow" (for Q1) and "lake/road" (for Q2).

- Teacher pushes a digital listening quiz to the pupils' tablets.

- Teacher plays the recording and allow pupils time to complete the activity (say "Listen and circle."). Play again if necessary.

- Check the answers by asking "a or b?" When pupils answer correctly, confirm by saying "1a. There's a river. / 2b. There's a road." and encourage them to repeat.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils observe the pictures (1a, 1b, 2a, 2b) and say the words.

- Pupils put on their headphones and adjust the volume slider safely.

- Pupils listen to the audio track and use touch input to circle option a or b on their tablet screens.

- Pupils listen to the recording carefully.

- Pupils use pencils to circle option a or b.

- Pupils say their answers loudly: "1a! 2b!" and repeat the full sentences after the teacher.

3. PRACTICE

a. Objective: To consolidate the sentence structure "There's a _____." using a very basic, visual-focused format suitable for Grade 2.

b. Organisation:

Mission 1: "Choose and Write"

- Teacher uses the smartboard to project a digital version of this task.  

- Teacher guides pupils to look at the picture, pick the correct word from the brackets, and write it carefully on their mini-whiteboards.

- Give pupils 2 minutes to complete the task.

- Check answers as a class and have pupils point to the board and read the full sentences aloud together.

Mission 2: Complete the quiz (optional).

- Teacher sends link the quiz on website kenhhoctap: https://kenhhoctap.edu.vn/page/day-du-cac-tai-lieu for student to perform.

- Teacher gives pupils 5 minutes to choose the correct answer.

- Teacher calls out pupils to share their answers and explain the correct ones.

- Teacher monitors and offers support.

- Teacher asks fast finishers to read the completed words aloud to their partners.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the screen, pictures and sentences. 

- Pupils carefully choose the correct word and write it down on their mini-whiteboards.
