1. WARM-UP

a. Objective: To refresh pupils' memory of the previous unit and introduce the new topic "On the farm" engagingly.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher greets the class.

- The teacher operates an interactive digital smartboard to display animated contexts and taps the digital bubbles on the screen to play the corresponding audio.

- Refresh pupils' memory of Unit 5 by playing a quick game of Whispers with the sentences: "He's colouring a square.", "She's doing a quiz." and "She's answering a question."

- Teacher shows a big picture of a farm and write the word farm on the board.

- Teacher asks pupils if they have ever been to a farm and, if so, what they saw there (e.g., chickens, cows, pigs).

- Lead into the new lesson.

- Pupils greet the teacher.

- Pupils select simple digital technologies to interact by stepping up to the smartboard and tapping the screen to hear the dialogue.

- Pupils form lines, listen, and whisper the review sentences down the line.

- Pupils look at the farm picture on the board.

- Pupils share their experiences excitedly: "I saw a duck!", "I saw a cow!"

- Pupils open their books and get ready for the new lesson.

Activity 1: Listen and repeat.

a. Objective: To correctly pronounce the name of the letter X/x and the sound /ks/, both in isolation and in the words box, fox and ox.

Activity 2: Point and say.

a. Objective: To correctly identify and pronounce the words box, fox and ox.

b. Organisation:

- Have pupils point to the letter X/x and correctly pronounce its name and sound (say "Point to the letter X. Say /eks/. Now say /ks/.").

- Have pupils point to and correctly pronounce the word box (say "Point to the box. Say box."). Do this several times, individually and in chorus.

- Teacher activates an AI Voice Recognition application on the pupils' tablets for individual pronunciation practice.

- Teacher repeats Step 2 for fox and ox.

- Teacher puts pupils into pairs or groups for further practice of Steps 1 to 3. Go around the class to offer help or correct pupils' pronunciation.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils point to the letter X/x and produce the name and sound clearly.

- Pupils point to the picture/word box and say it aloud.

- Pupils speak the target words into their tablet microphones and receive instant visual feedback (like a green star or a score) from the AI tool.

- Pupils point and say fox and ox.

- Pupils work in pairs, taking turns pointing to the book and saying the letter, sound, and words to their partners.

3. PRACTICE

a. Objective: To consolidate word recognition of the target vocabulary using a simple, visual-focused format suitable for Grade 2.

b. Organisation:

Mission 1: "Choose and Write"

- Teacher uses the smartboard to project a digital version of this task.  

- Teacher guides pupils to look at the picture, pick the correct word from the brackets, and write it carefully on their mini-whiteboards.

- Give pupils 2 minutes to complete the task.

- Check answers as a class and have pupils point to the board and read the sentences aloud together.

Mission 2: Complete the quiz (optional).

- Teacher sends link the quiz on website kenhhoctap: https://kenhhoctap.edu.vn/page/day-du-cac-tai-lieu for student to perform.

- Teacher gives pupils 5 minutes to choose the correct answer.

- Teacher calls out pupils to share their answers and explain the correct ones.

- Teacher monitors and offers support.

- Teacher asks fast finishers to read the completed words aloud to their partners.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the screen, pictures and sentences. 

- Pupils carefully choose the correct word and write it down on their mini-whiteboards.
