1. WARM-UP

a. Objective: To revise the letter, sound, and words learned in Lesson 1 and create a joyful atmosphere.

b. Organisation: 

- Teacher greets the class.

- The teacher operates an interactive digital smartboard to display animated contexts and taps the digital bubbles on the screen to play the corresponding audio.

- Ask pupils what letter and sound they learnt in Lesson 1 (Q/q, /k/).

- Show pictures of the words that pupils learnt in Lesson 1 (question, square, quiz) very quickly (for 1-2 seconds) and hide them.

- Teacher encourages pupils to guess the picture and say the words in chorus loudly.

- Praise the pupils.

- Say: "Open your books look at Unit 5, Lesson 2."

- Pupils greet the teacher.

- Pupils select simple digital technologies to interact by stepping up to the smartboard and tapping the screen to hear the dialogue.

- Pupils answer loudly: "Letter Q, sound /k/".

- Pupils look carefully at the board, try to catch the flashing pictures, and shout out the correct words: "Square!", "Question!", "Quiz!"

- Pupils open their books and get ready for the new lesson.

Activity 3: Listen and chant.

a. Objective: To say a chant with the sound of the letter Q/q (/k/), the words square, question and quiz and the sentence structure He's/She's _____ (verb + -ing).

Activity 4: Listen and tick

a. Objective: To recognise the words square, quiz and the sentence structure He's/She's _____ (verb + -ing). while listening.

b. Organisation:

- Have pupils point to the pictures and say the words (say "Point and say."). Confirm by saying "square/circle/question/quiz".

- Teacher pushes a digital listening quiz to the pupils' tablets.

- Teacher instructs pupils to plug in their headphones and ensure the volume is at a safe level (under 60%).

- Teacher plays the recording and allow pupils time to complete the activity (say "Listen and tick."). Play again if necessary.

- Check the answers by asking "a or b?". When pupils answer correctly, confirm by saying "1a. He's colouring a square. / 2b. She's doing a quiz." and encourage them to repeat.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils observe the pictures (1a, 1b, 2a, 2b) and describe them.

- Pupils put on their headphones and adjust the volume slider safely.

- Pupils listen to the recording carefully.

3. PRACTICE

a. Objective: To consolidate the sentence structures He's/She's _____ (verb + -ing). using a simple, visual-focused format suitable for Grade 2.

b. Organisation:

Mission 1: "Choose and Write"

- Teacher uses the smartboard to project a digital version of this task.  

- Teacher guides pupils to look at the picture, pick the correct word from the brackets, and write it carefully on their mini-whiteboards.

- Give pupils 2 minutes to complete the task

- Check answers as a class and have pupils point to the board and read the full sentences aloud together.

Mission 2: Complete the quiz (optional).

- Teacher sends link the quiz on website kenhhoctap: https://kenhhoctap.edu.vn/page/day-du-cac-tai-lieu for student to perform.

- Teacher gives pupils 5 minutes to choose the correct answer.

- Teacher calls out pupils to share their answers and explain the correct ones.

- Teacher monitors and offers support.

- Teacher asks fast finishers to read the completed words aloud to their partners.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the screen, pictures and sentences. 

- Pupils carefully choose the correct word and write it down on their mini-whiteboards.
