1. WARM-UP

a. Objective: To create an engaging and energetic atmosphere, leading pupils into the "backyard" topic using visual hints.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher greets the class.

- Teacher asks the students to watch an AI-generated video designed to support the lesson and answer the questions that appear in the video.

- Teacher plays a visual game called "What's behind the fence?".

- Teacher shows a picture of a fence on the slide/board. Slowly, parts of objects hidden in a backyard (a string of a kite, a wheel of a bike, a cat's tail) appear above or behind the fence.

- Teacher asks: "What's this? Let's guess!"

- Encourage pupils to guess using simple English or Vietnamese. Praise their efforts.

- Teacher reveals the full picture of the backyard and introduces the lesson: "Today, we will learn about fun things in the backyard. Unit 2: In the backyard!"

- Pupils greet the teacher.

- Students watch the AI-generated video and answer the questions about it.

a. Objective: To correctly pronounce the name of the letter K/k and the sound /k/, both in isolation and in the words kite, bike and kitten.

Activity 2: Point and say.

a. Objective: To correctly identify and pronounce the words kite, bike and kitten.

b. Organisation:

- Have pupils point to the letter K/k and correctly pronounce its name and sound (say "Point to the letter K. Say /keɪ/. Now say /k/.").

- Have pupils point to and correctly pronounce the word kite (say "Point to the kite. Say kite."). Do this several times, with pupils repeating both individually and in chorus.

- Repeat for bike and kitten.

- Teacher opens a basic AI Voice Recognition app (eg., Native Speech,...) on the smartboard to check their pronunciation.

- Put pupils into pairs or groups for further practice. Go around the class to offer help or correct pupils' pronunciation, if necessary.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils point to the letter K/k in their books and pronounce /keɪ/, /k/.

- Pupils point to the picture of the kite and pronounce the word kite clearly.

- Pupils point and say bike and kitten.

- Pupils observe how the teacher uses the microphone to interact with the AI pronunciation tool.

- Pupils work in pairs: one points, the other says the word, then swap roles.

3. PRACTICE

a. Objective: To consolidate the recognition and spelling of the words kite, bike, kitten and the letter k through a hands-on matching and writing exercise.

b. Organisation: 

Mission 1: "Look, Write, and Match" Worksheet

- Teacher hands out a short worksheet to each pupil.

- Teacher models the exercise on the board to make sure pupils understand the two steps:

+ Write the missing letter k in the blanks.

+ Draw a line to match the word to the correct picture.
