1. WARM-UP

a. Objective: To revise the letter, sound, and words learned in Lesson 1 and create a joyful atmosphere.

b. Organisation: 

- Teacher greets the class.

- The teacher operates an interactive digital smartboard to display animated contexts and taps the digital bubbles on the screen to play the corresponding audio.

- Ask pupils what letter and sound they learnt in Lesson 1 (J/j, /dʒ/).

- Show pictures of the words learned in Lesson 1 (juice, jelly, jam) and encourage them to say the words in chorus.

Extension: Pupils sit in a circle or pass a toy jar (Hot Potato) around the class while a lively song plays. When the music stops, the pupil holding the jar must loudly say a word starting with J (e.g., "Jelly!").

- Teacher repeat the game several times to engage the class.

- Say: "Open your books and look at Unit 7, Lesson 2."

- Pupils greet the teacher.

- Pupils select simple digital technologies to interact by stepping up to the smartboard and tapping the screen to hear the dialogue.

- Pupils answer loudly: "Letter J, sound /dʒ/".

- Pupils look at the flashcards and say the words together.

- Pupils pass the toy jar quickly and excitedly while listening to the music.

- The pupil holding the jar when the music stops says a target word confidently.

- Pupils are energized and ready for the lesson.

- Pupils open their books.

Activity 3: Listen and chant.

a. Objective: To say a chant with the sound of the letter J/j (/dʒ/), the words jam, juice, jelly and the sentence structure I like _____.

Activity 4: Listen and tick.

a. Objective: To recognise the words jelly, juice and the structure I like _____. while listening.

b. Organisation:

- Have pupils look at the pictures and say the words (say "Point and say."). Confirm by saying "jelly/cake/jam/juice".

- Teacher plays the recording and allow pupils time to complete the activity. Play again if necessary.

- Teacher checks the answers by asking "a or b?". When pupils answer correctly, confirm by saying "1a. I like jelly." / "2b. I like juice." and encourage them to repeat.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils observe the pictures and name the food/drink.

- Pupils listen to the recording carefully.

* Audio script: 1. I like jelly. 2. I like juice.

- Pupils use pencils to tick box a or b.

- Pupils say their answers loudly: "1a! 2b!" and repeat the full sentences after the teacher.

3. PRACTICE

a. Objective: To consolidate the sentence structure I like _____. using a simple, visual-focused format suitable for Grade 2.

b. Organisation:

Mission 1: "Choose and Write"

- Teacher uses the smartboard to project a digital version of this task.  

- Teacher guides pupils to look at the picture, pick the correct word from the brackets, and write it carefully on their mini-whiteboards.

- Give pupils 2 minutes to complete the task.

- Check answers as a class and have pupils point to the board, rub their stomachs, and read the full sentences aloud together.

Mission 2: Complete the quiz (optional).

- Teacher sends link the quiz on website kenhhoctap: https://kenhhoctap.edu.vn/page/day-du-cac-tai-lieu for student to perform.

- Teacher gives pupils 5 minutes to choose the correct answer.

- Teacher calls out pupils to share their answers and explain the correct ones.

- Teacher monitors and offers support.

- Teacher asks fast finishers to read the completed words aloud to their partners.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the screen, pictures and sentences. 

- Pupils carefully choose the correct word and write it down on their mini-whiteboards.

- Pupils hold up their whiteboards to show the teacher.

- Pupils read aloud in chorus with actions: "I like jam. I like jelly."
