2. PRESENTATION

Activity 1: Listen and repeat.

a. Objective: To repeat the sounds of the letters air and ear in isolation, in the words hair and ears, and in the sentences Touch your hair! and Touch your ears! with the correct pronunciation and intonation.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher draws pupils' attention to the letters air, the word hair and the sentence Touch your hair! Teacher plays the recording and encourages pupils to point at the letter/word/sentence while listening.

- Teacher use the computer to find and access the digital audio files from the digital textbook platform and play them on the smart TV.

- Teacher plays the recording again and encourages pupils to listen and repeat. Teacher does this several times until pupils feel confident, corrects their pronunciation where necessary, and praises them.

- Teacher repeats for the letters ear, the word ears and the sentence Touch your ears!

- Teacher lets pupils work in pairs or groups to pronounce the sounds, say the words, and read the sentences. Teacher invites a few pupils to listen to the recording and say the language in front of the class.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils observe the letters, words, and sentences on the board/screen.

- Observe the teacher navigating the digital textbook on the smart TV and find ways to access the digital audio content.

- Pupils point to the correct items while listening.

- Pupils listen and repeat the sounds /eə/ and /ɪə/, words, and sentences.

- Pupils work in pairs/groups to practice pronunciation.

- Selected pupils perform in front of the class.

a. Objective: To identify the target words hair and ears while listening.

Activity 3: Let's chant.

a. Objective: To say the chant with the correct rhythm and pronunciation.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher draws pupils' attention to the lyrics of the chant and checks comprehension.

- Teacher plays the recording all the way through. Teacher encourages them to listen carefully to the rhythm and pronunciation. Teacher draws attention to the sounds ear and air, words ears and hair, and the sentences Touch your ears !and Touch your hair!

- Teacher plays the recording line by line for pupils to listen and repeat, correcting pronunciation where necessary.

- Teacher plays the recording all the way through for pupils to chant, encouraging them to clap along.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils read the lyrics.

- Pupils listen to the full chant to grasp the rhythm.

- Pupils repeat line by line after the audio.

- Pupils chant the whole song and clap along to the beat.

- Groups take turns chanting and clapping.

Activity 4: Read and match.

Activity 5: Let's write.

a. Objective: To read, understand and complete four target sentences/exchanges with picture cues.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher writes the first exchange on the board. Teacher reads the question together as a class, draws attention to the picture, and elicits the answer. Teacher gives time to write the answer in notebooks.

- Teacher repeats for the second, third and fourth sentences/exchanges.

- Teacher invites a few pairs to act out or read the sentences/exchanges aloud in front of the class.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the board and picture 1.

- Pupils answer "It's a hand."

- Pupils write the answer down.

- Pupils complete items 2, 3, and 4 using picture cues.

- Selected pairs act out the completed exchanges.

3. PRACTICE

a. Objective: To quickly review phonics (/eə/, /ɪə/) and spelling of the newly learned body parts (hair, ears) in a competitive, fun way suitable for Grade 3.

b. Organisation 

Mission 1: Look and write

- Teacher provides a simple worksheet with six pictures of body parts.

- The prompt on the board and worksheet is entirely in English: "Look and write”. Some words are wrong. Write the correct English word for each picture on the line.

- Teacher checks the answers with the whole class, gives feedback.

Mission 2: Complete the quiz (optional).

- Teacher sends link the quiz on website kenhhoctap for student to perform: https://kenhhoctap.edu.vn/bai-tap/quiz-global-success-3-textbook-unit-4-our-bodies-25086. 

- Teacher gives pupils 5 minutes to choose the correct answer.

- Teacher calls out pupils to share their answers and explain the correct ones.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils read each instruction, circle the wrong word and correct it.
