1. WARM-UP

a. Objective: To create a highly engaging atmosphere and physically prepare pupils for classroom instructions.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher greets the class.

- Teacher asks the students to watch an AI-generated video designed to support the lesson and answer the questions that appear in the video.

- Teacher organizes a game called "The Silent Teacher".

- Teacher does not speak but uses exaggerated hand gestures to signal actions (e.g., gestures upwards for standing up, gestures downwards for sitting, mimics opening a book, mimics closing a book).

- Teacher increases the speed of the gestures to make it fun and challenging.

Activity 2: Listen, point and say.

a. Objective: To correctly say the phrases and use ____, please! to give instructions.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher has pupils look at the pictures and elicit the school thing and the character in each picture.

- Teacher plays the audio tracks from the digital system for vocabulary repetition and the listening exercise.

- Teacher has pupils point at Picture a, listen to the recording and repeat the phrase (open your book). Repeat the same procedure with the other three pictures. Have the class repeat the phrases a few times. Hold up the flashcards for open your book, close your book, stand up and sit down and have pupils say the phrases.

- Teacher points at the speech bubble and Picture a and has pupils listen and repeat after the recording (Open your book, please!).

Activity 4: Listen and tick.

a. Objective: To listen to and understand two communicative contexts in which Ms Hoa gives pupils two instructions and tick the correct pictures.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher draws pupils’ attention to Pictures 1a and 1b. Elicit the instruction used in each picture. Play the recording for Question 1.

- Teacher plays the audio tracks from the digital system for vocabulary repetition and the listening exercise.

- Teacher plays the recording again for pupils to do the task. Play a third time to give another listening opportunity.

- Teacher repeats Steps 1 and 2 for Pictures 2a and 2b. 

- Teacher gets pupils to swap books with a partner, then check answers together as a class. Write the correct answers on the board.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the pictures and identify the actions.

- Pupils listen to the digital recording, and repeat the vocabulary phrases.

a. Objective: To complete the four target sentence patterns with the help of picture cues.

b. Organisation:

Activity 6: Let's play.

a. Objective: To recognise target phrases while listening and acting out the classroom instructions by playing the game Sit down, please!

b. Organisation:

- Teacher puts pupils into groups of 5 or 6. Choose one pupil from each group as a person who gives instructions for the rest of the group to act out.- Teacher models by saying: "Stand up, please!" Pupils respond to this instruction by standing up.

- Teacher has groups play the game. Explain that pupils who perform the wrong action are out of the game.

- The winning group is the one that has the highest number of members left at the end of the game.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils form small groups.

- Pupils listen to the designated "leader's" instructions.

- Pupils must react quickly and perform the correct physical action (stand up, sit down, open/close book).

- Pupils who make a mistake step aside.

- The remaining pupils celebrate their focus and listening skills.

3. PRACTICE

a. Objective: To apply the learned instructional structures in a fun, interactive role-play scenario.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher organizes the "Little Teacher" role-play activity.

- Teacher divides the class into small groups of 4.

- Teacher displays the prompt on the screen strictly in English: "Listen and act."

- One pupil in the group takes on the role of the "Little Teacher" and stands in front of their group.

- The "Little Teacher" issues commands clearly and confidently: "Stand up, please!", "Open your book, please!"

- The rest of the group ("the class") must perform the actions promptly.

- After 3 commands, another pupil takes a turn being the "Little Teacher".
