2. PRESENTATION

Activity 1: Listen and repeat.

a. Objective: To correctly repeat the sounds of the letters bl and br in isolation, in words, and in sentences.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher draws pupils’ attention to the letters bl, the word blue and the sentence My school bag is blue.. Play the recording for them to listen and repeat in chorus and individually. Correct the pronunciation if necessary.

- The teacher operates an interactive smartboard to display the lesson content.

- The teacher models using an AI-powered pronunciation application on the smartboard. The teacher speaks into the microphone and shows how the AI gives instant visual feedback (e.g., green for correct, red for incorrect) on the /bl/ sound.

- Teacher repeats Step 1 for the letters br (brown, The pencil cases are brown.). Go around the classroom and correct the pronunciation if necessary.

- Teacher lets pupils work in pairs or groups, pronouncing the sounds, saying the words, and reading the sentences until they feel confident.

- Teacher asks a few pupils to say the letters / words / sentences in front of the class. The class listens and makes comments.

a. Objective: To identify the target words blue and brown in sentences while listening.

Activity 3: Let's chant.

a. Objective: To say the chant with the correct rhythm and pronunciation.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher has pupils read the first verse of the chant and elicit its meaning. Draw pupils’ attention to the sounds of the letters bl and br in the words blue and brown in the second and fourth lines.

- Teacher plays the recording for pupils to listen to and repeat the first verse, line by line. Show them how to chant and clap.

- Teacher repeats for the second verse. Go around the classroom and offer help if necessary.

- Teacher plays the recording of the whole chant for pupils to do choral and individual repetition.

- Teacher invites a few groups to the front of the class to chant. The rest of the class may clap along.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils read the chant lyrics.

- Pupils listen to the rhythm and identify the target sounds within the song.

- Pupils practice chanting line by line, emphasizing the bl and br sounds.

- Pupils perform the whole chant and physically clap their hands to the beat.

- Groups confidently perform the chant at the front of the class.

a. Objective: To read and understand a short text and tick the colours of some school things.

Activity 5: Let's write.

a. Objective: To use the target language in real context by completing a gapped text about the colours of school things.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher tells the class the goal of this activity: Pupils read the gapped text and fill in the gaps with their school things and their colours.

- Teacher has pupils complete the first gap together as an example. Ask them what is missing. Then let them identify the colour of their pen. After that, let them write down the suitable word.

- The teacher instructs pupils to use the digital text tool/keyboard on their tablets to type their personalized answers into the gapped text.

- Teacher gives pupils time to complete the text independently.

- In pairs or groups, get pupils to swap their completed texts before checking as a class.

Extension: Let a few pupils read their completed text aloud in front of the class.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils read the gapped paragraph.

- Pupils understand that they must personalize the text based on their own real items.

a. Objective: To strictly review the target phonics (bl, br) visually and accurately, without overcrowding pupils with excessive text.

b. Organisation:

Mission 1: Look and Write.

- Teacher hands out a lightweight, highly focused mini-worksheet to each pupil.

- Teacher gives the English instruction clearly: "Task: Look and Write."

- Pupils must select the correct consonant cluster to complete the exact target words.

- Once finished, pupils point to the words and read them out loud to their desk partner, emphasizing the /bl/ and /br/ sounds.
