2. PRESENTATION

Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat.

a. Objective: To understand and correctly repeat the sentences in two communicative contexts (pictures) to ask and answer questions about their school.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher draws pupils’ attention to the pictures. Point at each picture, ask questions to help them identify the names of the speakers (Ms Hoa, Lucy).

- The teacher interacts with the digital textbook on the smartboard, tapping the specific audio icons to play the recording.

- Teacher asks pupils to look at Picture a. Play the recording for them to listen.

- Teacher plays the recording again, sentence by sentence, for pupils to listen and repeat individually and in chorus. Correct their pronunciation where necessary. Repeat the same procedure with Picture b.

- Teacher invites a few pairs to the front of the class to listen to and repeat the sentences.

- Teacher draws pupils’ attention to the question "Is this our school?" and the answers "Yes, it is." and "No, it isn't." Tell pupils that they are used to ask and answer questions about their school.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the pictures and identify the characters.

- Pupils visually follow the digital navigation on the smartboard to understand how audio content is accessed.

- Pupils listen to the recording and follow along.

- Pupils listen and repeat the sentences, paying attention to intonation.

- Selected pairs go to the front and role-play the exchanges.

- Pupils listen to the teacher's explanation of the target question and answer structures.

Activity 3: Let's talk.

a. Objective: To enhance the correct use of Is this our ____? - Yes, it is. / No, it isn't. to ask and answer questions about their school in a freer context.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher has pupils look at the picture.

- Teacher points at a certain room to elicit the question and the answer in context. Stick the flash cards for school, classroom, library and playground on the wall at various places around the classroom and point at a certain flash card to elicit the question and answer.

- Teacher gives pupils time to practise in pairs. One pupil points at a prompt picture or a school room flash card and asks; another pupil answers in context. Go around the classroom to offer support.

- Teacher invites some pairs of pupils to the front of the class to perform their conversations.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the picture and understand the context.

- Pupils look around the classroom at the placed flashcards and answer the teacher's questions.

- Pupils work in pairs, asking and answering using the target structures and pointing at the flashcards.

Activity 4: Listen and tick.

a. Objective: To listen to and understand two communicative contexts to ask and answer questions about a school and tick the correct pictures.

b. Organisation:

Activity 5: Look, complete and read.

a. Objective: To complete the four incomplete sentence patterns with the help of picture cues.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher has pupils look at the pictures and identify the places in the pictures.

- The teacher uses the digital pen tool on the smartboard to display the correct ticks and write the missing words (library, playground, etc.) to demonstrate digital editing.

- Teacher has pupils look at the four incomplete dialogues. Draw their attention to the missing words in the sentences.

- Teacher models Picture 1. Have pupils look at the picture and identify the place. Ask them what is missing in the question. Then have them complete the gap. Repeat the same procedure with Pictures 2, 3 and 4.

- Teacher has pupils complete the dialogues individually. Get pupils to swap books and correct their answers in pairs. Check the answers as a class. Ask a few pairs to read the dialogues aloud.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils observe the teacher using the digital pen to edit content on the screen.

- Pupils follow the teacher's example for dialogue 1.

- Pupils work independently to read and fill in the missing words.

- Pupils swap books to check answers.

- Selected pairs read the completed dialogues aloud.

a. Objective: To consolidate the vocabulary of school facilities and sentence structures through a highly focused reading and matching task.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher provides a strictly focused, distraction-free worksheet that targets only the 4 vocabulary words learned (school, classroom, library, playground) without any excessive texts.

- The instruction on the board and the worksheet is entirely in English: "Read and match."

- Teacher monitors the class, ensuring pupils focus purely on recognizing the target words and matching them accurately with the clear images.

Mission 2: Complete the quiz (optional).

- Teacher gives pupils 5 minutes to choose the correct answer.
