2. PRESENTATION 

Activity 1: Listen and repeat.

a. Objective: To correctly repeat the sounds of the letter cluster oo and letter a.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher draws pupils’ attention to the letter cluster oo, the word book and the sentence I have a book.

- The teacher displays an AI-powered pronunciation application on the interactive smartboard. The teacher models speaking into the microphone and shows how the AI gives instant visual feedback (green/red highlights) on pronunciation accuracy.

- Teacher plays the recording again and encourages pupils to listen and repeat. Do this several times until pupils feel confident. Correct their pronunciation where necessary.

- Teacher repeats the procedure with the letter a, the word eraser and the sentence Do you have an eraser?.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils observe the letter clusters on the board and in their books.

- Pupils step up to the smartboard, perform basic operations by speaking into the microphone, and check their pronunciation using the AI visual feedback.

- Pupils listen to the audio and point to the corresponding text.

- Pupils repeat the sounds, words, and sentences in chorus and individually, focusing carefully on the target sounds (oo and a).

Activity 3: Let's chant.

a. Objective: To say the chant with the correct rhythm and pronunciation.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher draws pupils’ attention to the lyrics of the chant. Check comprehension and give feedback.

- Teacher plays the recording all the way through. Encourage pupils to listen carefully to the rhythm and pronunciation. Draw their attention to the sounds of the letter cluster oo and letter a in the words book and eraser in the chant.

- Teacher plays the recording line by line for pupils to listen and repeat.

- Teacher plays the recording all the way through for pupils to say the chant. Encourage them to clap along.

- Teacher divides the class into two or more groups to take turns listening to and repeating the chant while the rest of the class claps along.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils read the chant lyrics.

- Pupils listen to the rhythm and identify the target sounds within the song.

- Pupils practice chanting line by line.

- Pupils say the whole chant and physically clap their hands to the beat.

Activity 5: Let's write.

a. Objective: To read, understand and complete the writing frame with pupils' information.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher writes the writing frame on the board. Have pupils read the sentences in chorus.

- The teacher instructs pupils to use the digital notepad app on their tablets to type out their personalized sentences.

- When reaching the first gap, teacher points to it and tells pupils to complete it with their name. Then read the next line and tell them to complete each gap with the school things they have.

- Teacher gives pupils time to do the task. Go around the classroom to offer support.

- Teacher invites a few pupils to stand up and read their writing aloud.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

a. Objective: To strictly review the target phonics (oo, a) without overcrowding the pupils with excessive vocabulary.

Mission 1: Fill in the missing letters and read. 

- Teacher hands out a lightweight, highly focused mini-worksheet to each pupil.

- Teacher gives the English instruction: "Task: Fill in the missing letters and read”.

- Teacher asks pupils to fill in the exact phonics letters they learned today.

- Once finished, pupils must point to the word and read it out loud to their desk partner, emphasizing the /ʊ/ and /ə/ sounds.
