Step 1: Transfering the learning task

- T lets Ss practise the sounds /s/ and /z/ together. Ask Ss to observe T for the correct pronunciation of these two sounds. (Ex 4)

- -Have Ss quickly read the conversation and underline the final s in the words. Now play the recording for Ss to listen to the conversation and write /s/ or /z/ under each s that they have underlined (ex 5)

- T tells them to put the words with the final s in the correct column according to the sound of s (ex 5)

Step 2: Performing the task

- Ss listen. Repeat and read individually then work in pairs to compare their answers.

Step 3: Discussion

- Play the recording again for Ss to repeat each line of the conversation, Ask Ss to work in pairs to practise

the conversation. 

- Call on some pairs to practise the conversation.

Step 4: Conclusion

- T comments on their pronunciation of

the final s.

Ex5. Listen and repeat. Underline the final “s” in the words and put them into the correct column
