PERIOD 33: UNIT 5: NATURAL WONDERS OF VIET NAM
LESSON 1. GETTING STARTED
I. OBJECTIVES.
1. Knowledge: By the end of this lesson, students can
- Use the lexical items related to the topic “Natural wonders of Viet Nam”.
*Structures: Modal verb: must/ mustn’t
2. Competences: using language, self- study, co-operation
3. Quality: educate students to love natural wonders of Viet Nam
II. TEACHING AIDS.
T: English room, bluetooth, computer
Ss: Do homework, prepare the lesson
III. PROCEDURE.
1. WARM UP. (3’)
a. Goal: to create an active atmosphere in the class before the lesson then to lead into the new unit
b. CONTENTS : - T writes the topic ‘Our Greener World’ on the board and explains the meaning of “go green”.
c. Expected result: - Ss undersand the phrase “go green”.
d. Performance:
For example, T can organise a Comparative quiz. Divide the class into two halves. One
student from the first half calls out an adjective from Unit 4. One student from the
second half has to give the comparative form of the adjective (1 point), another has
to make a sentence with that word (2 points):
Student 1 from group one: quiet
Student 2 from group two: quieter
Student 3 from group two: My neighbourhood is quieter than your neighbourhood
The game continues until the time is up.
Lead to the new unit. Write the unit title Natural Wonders of Viet Nam on the board.
Ask Ss to guess what they are going to learn about in this unit. After Ss respond, ask
them to open their books to page 48. Draw their attention to the box and introduce
what they are going to learn in this Unit.
2. PRESENTATION. (15’)
a. Goal: - Ss learn some more vocabulary related to the topic.
b. CONTENTS: learning new words
c. Expected result: Ss can understand the meanings of the vocabulary

3. PRACTICE. (15’)
a. Goal: helps Ss to:
- understand the conversation better, practice using words to describe things in nature
- revise and learn more nouns for things in nature through pictures and listening exercise
b. Contents: - Ss do exercise 2, 3,

Task 2 Step 1: Transfering the learning task - T Ask Ss to do this activity independently. Ask them how to do the activity. Remind them of the ways to do the activity lf needed: read the sentences carefully, read the words given in the box and identify the kind of wovd to fill each blank. Step 2: Performing the task - Ss can refer back to the conversation for the context of the words they need to fill the blanks then compare their answers before discussing them as a class Step 3: Discussion - T calls some Ss to write the correct answers on the board. Step 4: Conclusion - T Explain the mearing of some words if necessary. Ss practise saying the sentences together.. Task 3: Step 1: Transfering the learning task - T plays the recording and ask Ss to listen. Play the recording again, pausing after each item and asking them to repeat chorally and individually Step 2: Performing the task - Ss do as requested to complete the task Step 3: Discussion - T calls on some Ss to read the words aloud Step 4: Conclusion - T checks the answers with the whole class. 4. PRODUCTION. (10’)
a. Goal: - to help Ss revise and learn about some natural wonders through a quiz
b. Contents: - Ss work in groups to choose the correct answer
c. Expected result: Ss can do the task correctly

Step 1: Transfering the learning task - T encourages Ss to exploit their knowledge of geography then T divides the class into groups of five or six. -T let Ss choose the answers to the questions Step 2: Performing the task - Ss work in groups to do the task Step 3: Discussion - T calls on some Ss to read the answers aloud Step 4: Conclusion - T confirms the correct answers and then gives Ss information about these wonders to interests them in the topic of the unit. | Ex 4: Key
