UNIT 2: MY HOUSE

LESSON 7:  LOOKING BACK+ PROJECT 

I. OBJECTIVES.

1. Knowledge: 

By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to:

1. Use the lexical items related to the topic ‘my house, use possive case, use prepositions of place to describe favorite room

2.  Recycle the language from the previous sections and links with the topics and talk about favorite room in a house

2. Competences: - Improving self-learning competence, creative, communicative and cooperation competence

3. Quality: 

- Students are able to use the lexical items related to the topic ‘My house”, use the past simple, use imperatives to tell sb to do sth or to give a direct order.

- This is the review and drill section of the unit, so encourage Ss not to refer back to the unit pages. Instead, they can use what they have learnt during the unit to help them answer the questions. Ss need to see how far they have progressed and which areas need further PRACTICE.

Ss : Learn the old lesson, prepare Unit 8: Getting started

C. PROCEDURE

1. WARM UP: ( 5’)

a. Goal:  Draw a mind map about what Students have learnt in this unit to help them consolidate the knowledge they have learnt in this unit.

b. CONTENTSDraw a mind map about what Students have learnt in this unit

c. Expected result:  Students can draw a mind map about what they have learnt in this unit to help them consolidate the knowledge they have learnt. Then, they can remember and use them actively.

Step 1: Transfering the learning task

- T guides Ss to draw the mind map.

- Have ss work individually and then compare their answers with a partner.

Step 2: Performing the task

- Ss to write the answer on the board.

Step 4: Conclusion

- T give feedback and correct

 Draw a mind map into your notebook about what you have learnt in this unit

Task 1 (p24): Find one odd word or phrase in each line:

a. Goal: help Ss revise the vocabulary of Furniture and types of house

c. Expected result:  Ss consolidate, remember and use the vocabulary of Furniture and types of house correctly.

a. Goal: help Ss to revise describing their favorte room using the prepositions of place

CONTENTS

Step 1: Transfering the learning task 

  • T ask one student what room in the house is his/ her favorite, encourages them to say one or two sentences about it

  • T has Ss write three sentences to describe their favorite room. Remind Ss to use prepositions of place

Step 2: Performing the task

  • Ss work individually to do the task then share their sentences with their partners

Step 3: Discussion

  • T asks some Ss to write their sentences on the board

Step 4: Conclusion

  • T and other Ss give feedback

 

 

4. PRODUCTION -PROJECT:

a) Goal: to introduce to Ss a new way of leaning and practising the language and knowledge they have gained to do a project. This also prepare Ss to learn to work in the team effectively

b. CONTENTS : Ss work in groups to draw their own strange house and tell the class about it

c. Expected result:  Ss can tell the class about their house by using the grammar and the vocabulary they have learnt 

d. Performance: 

- Ss work in groups. One student in each group asks other group members Questions 1 and fill the information in the following table

-T has Ss work in groups to draw their own strange house. T asks Ss to practice describing their house in groups before telling the class about their house. The class votes for the best strange house.

*HOMEWORK: T asks students to do homework:

- Prepare next lesson :
