1. WARM-UP

a. Objective: To create a fun, engaging atmosphere and review school subjects to lead into the main lesson.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher greets the class.

- Teacher asks the students to watch an AI-generated video designed to support the lesson and answer the questions that appear in the video.

- Teacher organizes a game called "Pass the Ball".

- Teacher plays a catchy English song and asks pupils to pass a small plastic ball around the class.

- When the teacher stops the music, the pupil holding the ball must stand up and quickly name one school subject in English (e.g., maths, science, art).

- Teacher praises the pupils and leads into the lesson: "Today we will learn how to ask and answer about when we have these subjects."

- Teacher asks pupils to open their books to Unit 7, Lesson 2.

- Pupils greet the teacher.

- Students watch the AI-generated video and answer the questions about it.

- Pupils listen to the rules of the game.

- Pupils pass the ball while the music plays.

- Pupils stand up and name a subject when the music stops.

- Pupils open their books and prepare for the new lesson.

Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat.

a. Objective: To understand and correctly repeat the sentences in two communicative contexts in which characters ask and answer questions about a school timetable.

Activity 2: Listen, point and say.

a. Objective: To correctly say the words and use "When do you have ___?" - "I have it on ___." to ask and answer questions about a timetable.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher asks pupils to look at Picture a and identify the subject under the picture (art) and the day on the calendar (Monday).  

- Play the recording from youtube for pupils to listen to and repeat the words in chorus and individually until they feel confident.

- Teacher draws pupils' attention to the speech bubbles and elicits the missing words in the question and the answer. Play the recording for pupils to repeat the sentences in both bubbles a few times.

- Teacher repeats Steps 1 and 2 with Pictures b, c and d. Go around the classroom and offer help where necessary.

- Teacher invites a few pairs to act out the exchanges at the front of the class.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at Picture a and repeat the words: art; Monday.

Activity 4: Listen and tick.

a. Objective: To listen to and understand two communicative contexts in which pupils ask and answer questions about timetables and tick the correct pictures.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher asks pupils to look at Pictures 1a and 1b and identify a part of the timetables and the subject. Draw attention to the days of the week when music is taught.

- Teacher uses a basic digital interactive tool on the smart board. Plays the recording from youtube of the first dialogue and invites pupils to come up and tap the correct box directly on the screen.

- Teacher repeats Steps 1 and 2 with Pictures 2a and 2b.

- Teacher gets pupils to swap their books with a partner and check their answers before checking as a class.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at Pictures 1a and 1b (music on Tuesdays vs. Wednesdays).

Activity 6: Let's sing.

a. Objective: To sing the song "What subjects do you have today?" with the correct pronunciation, rhythm and melody.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher draws pupils' attention to the title and lyrics of the song. Encourage them to point at the picture to reinforce their understanding.

- Teacher has pupils read the first verse. Have pupils listen to the first verse from youtube, drawing attention to pronunciation, rhythm and melody. Let them listen again and practise singing line by line while clapping their hands.

- Teacher repeats Step 2 for the second verse. Check comprehension and give feedback.

- Teacher asks pupils to listen to and sing the whole song while clapping their hands.

- Teacher invites a few groups to the front of the class to sing the song.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the lyrics and picture.

- Pupils read and listen to the first verse: "What subjects do you have today? / Vietnamese, maths and science...".

- Pupils practice singing and clapping line by line.

- Pupils listen to the second verse: "When do you have maths? / I have maths every school day..." and practice.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher assigns the home task: "My Dream Timetable".

- Teacher instructs pupils to use a simple digital drawing tool (e.g., MS Paint, Canva for Education) on their home computers/tablets to design a visual "Dream Timetable" featuring their top 3 favorite subjects.

- At home, pupils must show their "Dream Timetable" to their parents or siblings and practice presenting it using the sentence pattern: "I have [subject] on [days]".

- In the next lesson, teacher will invite 3 pupils to show their colorful drawings and present them to the class.

* CONSOLIDATION

- Teacher reviews the main sentence patterns of the lesson: "What subjects do you have today?" and "When do you have ___?".

- Teacher evaluates pupils' participation and praises active learners.

* ADVICE

- Practice singing the song "What subjects do you have today?" at home.

- Complete the "My Dream Timetable" drawing and speaking task.
