2. PRESENTATION

Activity 1: Listen and repeat.

a. Objective: To correctly repeat the sounds of the letters se and ce in isolation, in the words Vietnamese and science, and in sentences.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher projects an AI-powered pronunciation assessment tool on the TV.

- Teacher has pupils point at the letters se, the word Vietnamese and the question When do you have Vietnamese? Play the recording from youtube for them to listen and repeat in chorus and individually.

- Teacher invites pupils to speak into the microphone. The AI tool evaluates and displays a visual score for their /se/ sounds.

- Teacher repeats the steps for the letters ce, the word science and the sentence We have science today.

- Teacher lets pupils work in pairs, pronouncing the sounds, words and sentences.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils point at the book, listen to the recording, and repeat the sounds, words, and sentences out loud.

- Selected pupils stand up, speak into the microphone, and observe the AI tool's visual feedback on their pronunciation accuracy.

- Pupils focus on the /ce/ sounds and repeat accurately.

- Pupils practice in pairs until they feel confident.

Activity 3: Let’s chant.

a. Objective: To say the chant with the correct pronunciation and rhythm.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher has pupils read the first verse and draws attention to the sound of ce (science).

- Teacher plays the recording from youtube of the first verse. Play again, line by line, for pupils to repeat. Encourage clapping.

- Teacher repeats the steps for the second verse, focusing on se (Vietnamese).

- Teacher plays the recording all the way through for pupils to chant and clap along.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils read the lyrics and notice the target sounds.

- Pupils listen, repeat line by line, and clap their hands to the rhythm.

- Pupils practice the second verse with the same energy.

- The whole class chants and claps together.

Activity 4: Read and circle.

a. Objective: To read and show understanding of a text by choosing the correct options to complete the sentences.

b. Organisation:

Activity 5: Let’s write.

a. Objective: To read, understand and complete a gapped text about pupils' timetables using the target language.

b. Organisation:

- Teacher tells the class they will write about their own names and timetables.

- Teacher does the first gap as an example (writing their name).

- Teacher gives pupils time to complete the text independently. Go around and offer help.

- Provide a shared digital board link (e.g., Padlet) for pupils to type their final answers.

- Extension: Invite one or two pupils to read their completed texts to the class.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils listen to the instruction.

- Pupils write their names in the first gap.

- Access the shared digital board on a tablet, type their short text, and submit it.

- Pupils look at their real timetables and fill in the subjects and days.

- Pupils read their personal texts aloud to the class.

Suggested answer: My name is Quan. I go to school from Mondays to Fridays. I have maths, Vietnamese, English and science today. I have science on Mondays and Thursdays. I have music on Fridays. I like music very much.

3. PRACTICE

a. Objective: To reinforce the vocabulary, phonics, and sentence structures learned in the unit through basic, focused exercises.

b. Organisation:

Mission 1: "Read and Complete the Timetable"

- Teacher distributes a short worksheet to the pupils.

- Teacher explains the task: Pupils will read a short paragraph about a student named Nam and fill in the missing subjects in Nam's timetable.

- Teacher reminds pupils to read carefully and just focus on the core words they have learned in this unit (science, Vietnamese, maths, English, music).

- Teacher gives pupils 5 - 7 minutes to complete the exercise independently.

- Teacher calls on pupils to read their answers aloud, writes the correct words on the board, and checks spelling.

- Pupils complete the blanks with the correct subjects.

- Pupils share their answers and check their spelling with the teacher's key on the board.
