REVIEW 3: SKILLS (UNITS 7, 8, 9)
I. OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
1. Knowledge:
- Review lexical items relating to television, sports and games, cities of the world
- Read descriptions of strange sports around the world and listen to an interview a student’s experience
2. Competences: Self-study; Problem solving, interaction.
3. Quality: realize the interest of sports and have a good deed towards cities of the world.
II. TEACHING AIDS
Teacher: lesson plan, CD player, a multimedia projector.
Students: Text-books, notebooks, exercise books.
III. PROCEDURE
1. WARM UP (5’)
a. Goal: Students are attracted and engaged into some strange sports in the world.
b. CONTENTS: sports and games
c. Expected result: describe the sports on the video clip.

b. CONTENTS: Ss listen to a talk about Singapore and fill the missing information

a. Goal: to help Ss write a paragraph describing a visit to a tourist city, based on information provided

c. Expected result: write a passage about Mark’s vidit to India

Step 1: Transfering the learning task - Ask Ss to read the table and decide what tense/sentence tructure to use for the writing and how the information is organized. - Let Ss write a passage about Mark visit last summer. - When Ss have finished, T asks them to have a peer check. - Call some Ss to stand up and read their paragraph. Step 2: Performing the task - Ss answer the questions as a class Step 3: Discussion - Report the result to the class Step 4: Conclusion - Give feedback |
Last summer, Mark visited Delhi in India. He spent 7 dyas there. During his holiday,he went aightseeing around the city. He watched snake performance, visited temples and ate street food . The people he met were v friendly and helpful. The only thing he didn’t like was the weather. It was very hot. |
