UNIT 10. HOUSES IN THE FUTURE
LESSON 6. SKILLS 2
A. OBJECTIVES:
1. Knowledge: In the lesson, students will be albe to listen for specific information about Nick and Linda’s dream house.
- Develop listening and writing skills.
- Vocab: lexical items related to the topic “Our Houses in the Future”.
- Grammar: “Will” for the future.
“Might” for future possibility.
2. Competences: using language, self- study, co –operation
3. Qualiy: have good imaginary of a future house.
B. TEACHING AIDS:
- T: bluetooth, laptop, English room
- Ss: do homework, vocabularies about future house and appliances
C. PROCEDURE:
1. WARM UP: (5’)
a. Goal: - Ss will recall some new vocabularies about the topic and be involved in the listening well.
b. CONTENTS: - ss look at the pictures and describe them.
c. Expected result: - students will describe the pictures and understand the situation.
d. Performance:

2. PRESENTATION -Pre- listening: 8’
a. Goal: - Ss will learn some new vocabularies to understand the listening tasks below. They will be involved in the listening well.
b. CONTENTS: - ss learn some vocabularies and do task 1.
c. Expected result: - students will understand the vocabularies, look at the pictures again and guess which house would Nick and Linda prefer.

Step 1: Transfering the learning task - T elicits some words and teaches ss to read in chorus => individually - Check their pronunciation. - Check their understanding: R & R - Ask Ss to look at the title of exercise 1, then ask: * What will you listen a conversation or a passage? * What information must you notice? * Which house Nick would prefer, and which house Linda would prefer Step 2: Performing the task - Ss answer the questions. Step 3: Discussion - Report the result to the class Step 4: Conclusion - T write their guess on the board. | I.Vocabulary: - view (n) cảnh - cable TV (n) truyền hình cáp - locate (v) đặt ở - coast (n) bờ biển

3.PRACTICE- While – Listening: 12’
a. Goal: - ss will listen to the conversation for specific information about Linda and Nick’s house in the future.
b. CONTENTS : - Listen to the conversation again. What is important to Nick? What is important to Linda? Tick (v)the columns.
c. Expected result: - Ss listen and distinguish the differences between Nick’s and Linda’s importances of their houses.

4. PRODUCTION -Writing: 15’
a. Goal: - they can use the information to write about their dream house in the future
b. CONTENTS : - ss discuss the questions to get information about their dream house. Then write a passage about their dream house in the future; remind ss to use “might/ will/ won’t” in their writing.
c. Expected result: - use “might/ will/ won’t” to write a passage about their dream house in the future well.

Step 1: Transfering the learning task - T gives ss the task + Ask Ss to work in pairs. Discuss about their dream houses using the suggested ideas - T controls the whole class and gives them assistance if it’s necessary. Remind ss to use “might/ will/ won’t” to write about their future house. - Set time for Ss to write (5’) Step 2: Performing the task - Ss do the task - Ss fill in the table, using the information they have discussed - Ss write about their dream houses, using suggested ideas/ information in 3 and 4. Step 3: Discussion - Report the result to the class Step 4: Conclusion - Collect 2-3 writings, check and correct ss’ mistakes. Give them marks if their writings are good. | Writing Task 4. Discuss your dream house and fill in the table about your dream house.
Task 5.Use the information in 4 to write about your dream house. - Type of house - Location - Number of rooms - Surroundings - Things in the house and what they will/ might do for you. |
