UNIT 12: OUR TET HOLIDAY

LESSON 4: COMMUNICATION

I. OBJECTIVES.

1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- use the lexical items related to the topic ‘Our Tet holiday’ 

- talk about different countries celebrate their New Year.

2. Competences: develop the competences of communication, cooperation and using languages and problem solving in doing exercises.

3. Quality: have a knowledge about celebrating new years of different countries

II. TEACHING AIDS.

T: Textbook, lesson plan, English room 

Ss: Learn the old lesson, prepare Unit 8: Communication 

III. PROCEDURE.

1. WARM UP (5’)

a. Goal:  To attract Ss’ attention to the lesson and to lead in the new lesson.

b. CONTENTS: SS answer the question

c. Expected result: Ss can feel more interested in the theme “New year’’

d. Performance:

- T asks Ss to match the flags with the countries, then match the countries with the nationalities

- T reads the words of countries and nationalities aloud and asks Ss to repeat in chorus 

- T then lead into the new lesson

2. PRESENTATION

a. Goal: To introduce a New Year wish and to help Ss practice New Year’s wishes

b. CONTENTS: Listen to the dialogue then practice saying New Year’s wishes
c. Expected result:  Students can understand the way to say New Year’s wishes

d. Performance: 

3. PRACTICE

a. Goal: to introduce Ss to some New Year’s practices in other countries

-to show Ss how different countries celebrate their New Year

b. CONTENTS: Ss do the task
c. Expected result:  Students can gain knowledge about the way of celebrating new year of different countries by doing the task
