A. OBJECTIVES.
1. Knowledge: By the end of this lesson, students can use the Past simple, use the Imperatives to tell Sb to do Sth or to give a direct order.
2. Competences:
+ Develop communicative competence, discovery, cooperation compentence and thinhking compentence.
+ Use the lexical items related to the topic: “Sports and games”.
+ Use the past simple and imperatives in reality.
3. Quality: Students are active to take part in sports and games to stay healthy.

C. PROCEDURE
1. WARM UP: ( 5’)
a. Goal: Help Ss to review some verbs in past form
b. CONTENTS : Ss go to the board and match the infinitive verbs with their past form.
c. Expected result: Ss can write verbs in past form

| I. The past simple tense. a. Affimative. Ex: My father went to HCM city last week. Mr Ba visited Nha Trang last year.
b. Negative. Ex: - Hoa didn’t go to school yesterday. - We didn’t stay at home last night.
c. Yes/ no- question. - Did you stay at home last Sunday? Yes, I did./ No, I didn’t. - Did your mother go shopping yesterday ? Yes, she did. / No, she didn’t.
* Usage: - The past simple tense expresses an action that completely finished in the past. - This tense always go with: yesterday, last week, ( night, month), ... ago | ||||||

Task 3: Ask and answer the questions about the weekend. Step 1: Transfering the learning task T: Divides Ss into groups of 4 or 5. Encourage them to gove as many sentences as possible. Tell them to use all three form ( affirmative, negative, and questions) Step 2: Performing the task - Ss take turns to ask and answer about their last weekend. Step 3: Discussion
Step 4: Conclusion Teacher monitors and gets feedback Task 5: Tell your friends what to do and what not to do at the gym. Step 1: Transfering the learning task T: Lets Ss work in pairs. Take turns telling their friends what to do and not to do at gym. Step 2: Performing the task - Work in pair to do the task Step 3: Discussion - Have Ss compare their answers - Report the result to the class Step 4: Conclusion - T gives comment and adds on to the answer if necessary |
* Some possible sentences: Pay your fee first. Put on your trainers/ sports shoes. Listen to the structor carefully. Don’t litter. Don’t eat or drink at the gym. |
