UNIT 8: SPORTS AND GAMES

LESSON 4: COMMUNICATION

I. OBJECTIVES.

1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to know and understand more about sports / games and some more facts.

2. Competences: 

+ Develop communicative competence, discovery, cooperation compentence and thinhking compentence.

+ Use the lexical items related to the topic:  “Sports and games”.

+ Ss will be able to talk about sport and games they like

3. Quality:  

- Students are active to take part in sports and games to stay healthy. 

II. TEACHING AIDS.

T: Textbook, lesson plan, laptop, projector

Ss: Learn the old lesson, prepare III. PROCEDURE.

1. WARM UP (5’):   

a. Goal: Students know about Vietnamese famous football team who won the Asian cup in Changzhou, China.

b. CONTENTS : Students can answer the questions about the football team who won the final match in the Asian cup in 2018.

c. Expected result: Students are willing to do something good for themselves and our country. 

d. Performance:

* Chatting Step 1: Transfering the learning task - Tc shows the pictures and asks  Ss some questions  ? Who are they?  ? How do you feel to watch the final match? ? When did the match in the picture happen? ? Which footballers do you like? ? How many players are there in a football team? ? How long does a football match last?  Step 2: Performing the task - Ss answer the questions Step 3: Discussion - Ss gives observation Step 4: Conclusion - T collects Ss’ answers and gives Ss the feedback.

- There are usually 22 players. - It normally lasts 90 minutes.

2. PRESENTATION: Pre-teach Vocabulary  (10’)

3. PRACTICE. (20’)

a. Goal: to help Ss communicate through a quiz about sprorts/ games

b. CONTENTS : Students represent their knowledge  and favourite activities in their free time by answering the quesstions, draw pictures.
