UNIT 9: CITIES OF THE WORLD

LESSON 5: SKILLS 1

I. OBJECTIVES.

1. Knowledge: use the lexical items related to the city they have just been arrived and  read for specific and general information in texts, including postcards

2. Competences:develop the competences of cooperation: 1, 2; creation: Speaking, using languages and problem solving in Speaking

3. Quality: Reading for specific and general information in texts, including postcards, speaking in guessing game about a country or a city.

1. WARM UP: (5’) 

a. Goal: Ask Ss to talk about the place in the picture .

 b. CONTENTS : Asking and answering , relying on the picture cues 

c. Expected result: Looking at the pictures and talk

2. PRESENTATION -Pre – Reading (10’)

a. Goal:Helping the students to read the blog and understand the main CONTENTS easily 

b. CONTENTS: Introduce some new words or phrases 

c. Expected result: Students can read, write and understand the words or phrases used in the text

3.  PRACTICE -While – Reading (14’)

a. Goal: Understanding the main CONTENTS of the postcard 

b. CONTENTS : Reading the postcard silently, aloud   

c. Expected result: Answering the questions and pronouncing correctly 

d. Performance: 

4. PRODUCTION -Speaking (14’)

a. Goal: Asking and answering questions about a city Ss have just arrived, learnt about or in imagination.   

b. CONTENTS : Choose a city that they like and tell other about it. 

c. Expected result:Answering correctly the common questions about a city Ss like.
