UNIT 9: CITIES OF THE WORLD
LESSON 7: LOOKING BACK, PROJECT
I. OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
1. Knowledge:
- Recycle the language from the previous sections and links with the topics : the cities of the world.
- Have knowledge and want to introduce about some famous cities in Viet nam to tourists
2. Competences:
- Develop the competences of communication: 6; cooperation: Project; using languages, and problem solving: Project.
3. Quality:
- Raise students’ awareness of values of landmarks, cities and educate them to be proud of the country.

III. PROCEDURE.
1. WARM UP. (8’)
Organization:
a. Goal: Ss use words related to cities of the world..
b. Contents: make sentences about cities.
c. Expected result: Ss can use what they remember from the unit to talk.
d. Performance:

Step 1: Transfering the learning task - Write the five topics: city, weather, people, building, food on the board and elicit from Ss at least 3 adjectives to describe each topic. ? Can you use the adjective “short” to describe a city, For example, and ask why not. Explain “short” is used for distance or length, but not to describe a city. - Give Ss sufficient time to do the exercise. When Ss have identified the unsuitable adjectives, ask them to explain why adjective is inapprociate. Encourage conversation. Step 2: Performing the task - Ss do as requested to complete the task Step 3: Discussion - Have Ss compare their answers - Report the result to the class Step 4: Conclusion - Teacher monitors and gets feedback |

3. Complete the sentence. Step 1: Transfering the learning task Ask Ss to complete the sentences individually. Step 2: Performing the task -SS work individually to do the task and sahre their answers with their partners Step 3: Discussion - Report the result to the class Step 4: Conclusion - Teacher monitors and gets feedback Ex 4: Correct the inderlined words Step 1: Transfering the learning task - Write 2-3 sentences on the board with similar mistakes to the ones in 4 and have the class do them togerther. - Ask Ss to read the sentences carefully and correct the underlined words Step 2: Performing the task - Listen and complete the exercise Step 3: Discussion - Other students listen to the answer and give comment Step 4: Conclusion - T gives comment and adds on to the answer if necessary | Ex 3: Key

4. PRODUCTION (15’) - PROJECT
a. Goal: to allow Ss to apply what they have learnt in to practice through a project
b. CONTENTS: Ss work in groups to discuss
c. Expected result: Ss can make a report of their findings and present it to the class

Step 1: Transfering the learning task T devide SS into small groups of 4 or 5 Ask them to discuss and choose a city in the world they would like to visit Ask them to look for necessary information for the visit, basically by answering the suggested questions Step 2: Performing the task - Ss work in groups to discuss Step 3: Discussion - T summarises the information and report the information collectec to the class Step 4: Conclusion - T asks the class to listen to the reports and ask questions if they would like to.
