2. PRESENTATION

Activity 1: Listen and repeat.

a. Objective: To correctly repeat the sounds of the letters l and r in isolation, in the words long and round, and in the sentences My sister has long hair. and My brother has round eyes.

b. Organisation:

- Have pupils look at the letter l, listen to the recording from sachmem.net and repeat the letter until they feel confident. Correct their pronunciation where necessary.

- Have pupils point at the word long, listen to the recording and repeat the word until they feel confident. Monitor the activity and offer help.

- Get pupils to point at the sentence My sister has long hair., listen to the recording and repeat it several times. Then get a few pupils to listen to and repeat the sentence in front of the class.

- Repeat the procedure with the letter r, the word round and the sentence My brother has round eyes.

- Guide pupils to use an AI pronunciation tool (eg., Native Speech,...) to record and practice /l/ and /r/ sounds, showing them how the AI listens and gives basic visual feedback (like a green checkmark).

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the letter l, listen and repeat.

- Pupils point at the word, listen and repeat.

- Pupils point at the sentence, listen, repeat, and read aloud.

- Pupils repeat the steps for the r sound.

Activity 3: Let's chant.

a. Objective: To say the chant with the correct rhythm and pronunciation.

b. Organisation:

- Have pupils scan the first verse of the chant. Draw their attention to the word long and the sentences He has long hair. and His hair is long.

- Play the recording from sachmem.net and ask pupils to listen to and repeat the first verse line by line. Show them how to chant and clap their hands.

- Play the recording of the whole verse again for pupils to do choral and individual repetition. Give corrections and feedback where necessary.

- Repeat Steps 1 to 3 for the second verse of the chant. Draw pupils' attention to the word round and the sentence She has a round face. and Her face is round.

- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to chant. Encourage them to clap along while chanting.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils scan the verse and notice the target words.

- Pupils listen, repeat, and learn to clap to the rhythm.

- Pupils practice chanting.

- Pupils focus on the second verse.

- Pupils chant and clap along with the full audio.

Activity 4: Read and complete.

a. Objective: To read a text and complete four gapped sentences about appearance.

Activity 5: Let's write.

a. Objective: To complete a gapped paragraph with personal information about pupils' family members.

b. Organisation:

- Have pupils read through the paragraph to get the general idea. Then, ask pupils to think about their own families.

- Draw pupils' attention to the first gap and ask them what the missing word might be. Have pupils suggest answers.

- Repeat the same procedure with the other gaps. Give pupils enough time to write the answers.

- Provide a shared digital board link (e.g., Padlet) for pupils to type their final answers.

- Have some pupils read their completed paragraphs aloud. Give corrections and feedback where necessary.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils read the template and think about their families.

- Pupils suggest missing words.

- Pupils complete the paragraph independently.

- Access the shared digital board on a tablet, type their short text, and submit it.

- Pupils share their writing with the class.

3. PRACTICE

a. Objective: To review and consolidate the knowledge of sounds, words, and sentence structures learned in the unit through exercises.

b. Organisation:

Mission 1: Sentence Builder

- Teacher tells pupils they have a mission to rebuild broken sentences. Teacher displays the following 5 jumbled sentences on the projector/board.

Exercise Content:

1. hair. / long / sister / My / has

2. brother / has / round / My / eyes.

3. tall. / is / father / My

4. a / round / face. / She / has

5. mother / My / slim. / is

- Teacher asks pupils to work individually and write the correct, complete sentences in their notebooks.

- Teacher gives pupils a time limit (about 3 - 4 minutes). Go around the class to monitor and ensure pupils are writing the basic structures correctly.

- Teacher asks pupils to swap their notebooks with a partner to cross-check.

- Teacher invites 5 pupils to go to the board and write down their answers.

- Teacher checks the answers with the whole class, highlighting the capitalization at the beginning and the full stop at the end of each sentence.

Mission 2: Complete the quiz (optional).

- Teacher sends link the quiz on website  kenhhoctap for student to perform.

- Teacher gives pupils 5 minutes to choose the correct answer.

- Teacher calls out pupils to share their answers and explain the correct ones.

- Teacher moves on to the next content.

- Pupils look at the board and read the jumbled words.

- Pupils work independently, applying the learned structures to write the correct sentences in their notebooks.

- Pupils swap notebooks and check their partner's work.
