UNIT 12: ROBOTS
LESSON 2: A CLOSER LOOK 1
I. OBJECTIVES.
1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to say statemments with the corect tone; Use the lexical items related to the topic “Robots”.
2. Competences:
- Developing communicative competence, cooperation competence and thinking skills through listening, speaking, reading and writing.
- Use the lexical items related to the topic “Robots”
- Using language to talk about different types of robots and what they will be able to do in the future.
3. Quality: Love studying English.

- Teacher: Text book, exercise book, English room.
- Student: Text book, notebook, exercise book.
III. PROCEDURE.
1. WARM UP (5’)
a. Goal: Review and create a fun atmosphere before starting the new lesson
b. CONTENTS: Ss answer the questions
c. Expected result: Ss can answer the questions correctly.

Step 1: Transfering the learning task -T models the statement “I ofen water plants ofter school” first, and then ask Ss to iđentify the tone. Briefty explain to them that we use falling tone at the end of a statement. Ask Ss to practise falling tone with the example in the Remernberl box. - T plays the recording and ask Ss to listen and repeat the statements. Play the recording as mawy times as necessary.. Step 2: Performing the task - Listen and complete the exercise Step 3: Discussion - T asks some Ss to read out the statement Step 4: Conclusion - T and other Ss listen then give comments | 4. Listen and repeat the following sentences Audio script: 1.I often water plants after school. 2. Shifa can do many things like humans. 3. My dad makes delicious meals at weekends. 4. WB2 is the strongest of all the robots. 5. H8 is a home robot. |
5.Practice saying the statements in the following paragraph. Step 1: Transfering the learning task -T Have Ss say the statements in the paragraph in pairs: one reads out the statements and the other comments. Then play the recording for Ss to listen and compare with their partner's pronunciation. - T plays the recording again for Ss to repeat each statement of the paragraph Step 2: Performing the task - Listen and complete the exercise Step 3: Discussion - T calls on some Ss to read out the paragraph. Step 4: Conclusion - T comments on their pronunciation of the falling tone at the end of each statement. | Audio script: My robot is Jimba. It's a home robot. It’s very helpful. lt can do the housework, It can also water plants and pick fruit. It can work as a guard. I love my robot very much. |
